Good afternoon, friends! I hope you're having a wonderful week. I'm happy to stop by and share a cute idea with you. This time, I'm sharing the step-by-step instructions for making an adorable mushroom bookmark. That's right, I wanted to get creative, and this time I came up with a cute mushroom with little hands, feet, and a face, which turned out perfect and sweet to display outside of books. I also wanted to add some extra elements like a daisy and a bit of grass.

🌟 PROCEDIMIENTO | 🌟 PROCESS
✨PASO 1:
Lo primero que debemos hacer es tomar una hoja blanca y comenzar a dibujar el diseño principal que tenemos en mente, ya sea un personaje de alguna caricatura, un diseño que imaginaron o algo más personalizado al estilo o apariencia de quien lo va a utilizar. En mi caso, pensé en elaborar algo que tenga que ver con plantas, tipo un jardín o algo por el estilo, y como una cosa lleva a la otra, después de varias ideas, surgió la idea de un hongo humanizado, con sus manitos, pies y rostro, acompañado de pasto y una pequeña margarita, lo cual se ajusta a la idea que tenía desde un inicio. Al estar listo el diseño, es momento de transferir a los colores correspondientes de foami, como explico a continuación:
✨Parte superior: 6 cm x 4 cm en foami rojo.
✨Cuerpo: 5.2 cm x 5 cm en foami crema.
✨Brazos: 2.2 cm x 1 cm en foami crema.
✨Piernas: 1.7 cm x 1.2 cm en foami crema.
✨Pasto: 8.5 cm x 3.5 cm en foami verde.
✨Pétalos: 4 cm x 4 cm en foami blanco.
✨Centro de flor: 2 cm de circunferencia en foami amarillo.
✨STEP 1:
The first thing we need to do is take a white sheet of paper and start drawing the main design we have in mind, whether it's a cartoon character, a design you imagined, or something more personalized to the style or appearance of the person who will be using it. In my case, I thought about creating something related to plants, like a garden or something similar, and as one thing led to another, after several ideas, the idea of a humanized mushroom emerged, with its little hands, feet, and face, accompanied by grass and a small daisy, which fits with the idea I had from the beginning. Once the design was ready, it was time to transfer it to the corresponding colors of foam, as I explain below:
✨Top: 6 cm x 4 cm in red foam.
✨Body: 5.2 cm x 5 cm in cream foam.
✨Arms: 2.2 cm x 1 cm in cream foam.
✨Legs: 1.7 cm x 1.2 cm in cream foam.
✨Grass: 8.5 cm x 3.5 cm in green foam.
✨Petals: 4 cm x 4 cm in white foam.
✨Flower center: 2 cm in circumference in yellow foam.

✨PASO 2:
Lo primero que debemos hacer es dar color a los bordes con pinturas o marcadores que hagan contraste. En mi caso, utilicé negro para la parte superior del hongo, o lo que vendría siendo casi casi que el cabello del hongo. Además, para el cuerpo utilicé un color marrón y, de resto, para el pasto y las partes de la flor, colores más oscuros que el color de cada pieza.
✨STEP 2:
The first thing we need to do is color the edges with contrasting paints or markers. In my case, I used black for the top of the mushroom, or what would almost be the mushroom's "hair." For the body, I used brown, and for the grass and parts of the flower, I used darker colors than the base color of each piece.

✨PASO 3:
Al estar secas las piezas, es momento de dibujar los detalles más específicos, que vienen siendo ojos, cejas, boca, mejillas, definir mejor los dedos de manos y pies. Además de la parte superior, a la cual le pinté los típicos círculos con pintura blanca, y la parte interna también. Por otra parte, definí mejor el pasto.
✨STEP 3:
Once the pieces are dry, it's time to draw the more specific details: eyes, eyebrows, mouth, cheeks, and to better define the fingers and toes. I also painted the typical circles on the top and inside of the mushroom with white paint. I further defined the grass.

✨PASO 4:
Al estar todo seco, es momento de comenzar a pegar. Primeramente, pegamos la parte superior, a la cual le hice un corte para meter el cuerpo, seguido de los brazos y piernas, para luego pegar el pasto por la parte trasera, a un lado la flor y dar algunos puntos de luz con pintura blanca a las mejillas y al centro de la flor.
✨STEP 4:
Once everything is dry, it's time to start gluing. First, I glued the top piece, which I had cut to insert the body, followed by the arms and legs. Then I glued the grass to the back, the flower to one side, and added some highlights with white paint to the cheeks and the center of the flower.

✨PASO 5:
Ya para finalizar, vamos a tomar liga delgada y recortamos a 38 cm de largo, perfecto para que quede ajustado a los libros. Pegamos punta con punta la liga y justo donde pegamos las puntas, encima pegamos la decoración.
✨STEP 5:
Finally, we'll take a thin elastic band and cut it to 38 cm long, perfect for fitting snugly around the books. Glue the elastic band end to end, and then glue the decoration on top where the ends meet.
