Derryl the Sorcerer of the Blue Flames

Hello my dear readers, happy Friday and I hope you are wonderful, today I come with a new drawing for my blog, this is a drawing which I titled Derryl the Sorcerer of the blue flames, Derryl is a master with years of experience in the art of sorcery, it is said that he is one of the last great sorcerers left in the world, which knows the most powerful spells that exist and is able to execute them to perfection. I hope you like it and without further ado I leave you with a little of the process of this work:

Hola que tal, feliz viernes mis queridos lectores y espero que se encuentren de maravilla, hoy les vengo con un nuevo dibujo para mi blog, se trata de un dibujo al cual titule Derryl el Hechicero de las llamas azules, Derryl es un maestro con años de experiencia en el arte de la hechicería, se dice que es de los últimos grandes hechiceros que quedan en el mundo, el cual conoce los encantamientos más poderosos que existen y es capaz de ejecutarlos a la perfección. Espero les guste y sin más los dejo con un poco del proceso de esta obra:

PROCESS / PROCESO

The sketch is always an important part when drawing, that is why I always try to make my sketches represent very well what I want to convey and perform, I draw Derryl as a man of about 35-40 years to give that essence of being a teacher, and with a firm look as if he were facing an adversary, then with the structure ready the next thing was to apply the colors to all my work, starting as always by the skin tones that are those that will give life to the character of Derryl.

El boceto siempre es una parte importante a la hora de dibujar, es por ello que siempre trato de que mis bocetos representen muy bien lo que quiero trasmitir y realizar, dibujo a Derryl como un hombre de unos 35-40 años para darle esa esencia de ser un maestro, y con una mirada firme como si estuviera frente a algún adversario, luego con la estructura lista lo siguiente fue aplicar los colores a toda mi obra, partiendo como siempre por los tonos de la piel que son los que darán vida al personaje de Derryl.

As I used medium tones for the skin, I decided that it would be best to use stronger tones for the volume on the face, then with the skin details ready I continued with the specific details of the face like the eyes and others, for the eyes I used yellow, green and also dark brown tones, all these colors I applied them in certain areas to later mix them and give a more natural look to the eyes.

Como emplee para la piel tonos medios, decidí que lo mejor sería que para el volumen en el rostro usara tonos más fuertes, luego con los detalles de piel listos proseguí con los detalles específicos del rostro como los ojos y demás, para los ojos use tonos amarillos, verdes y también marrón oscuro, todos estos colores los fui aplicando en determinadas zonas para posteriormente irlos mezclando y que dieran una apariencia más natural a los ojos.

For Derryl's clothing I wanted to do something a little different and more detailed, that's why I had the idea of painting a silk style shirt in a very bright red color, this in order to highlight even more the master sorcerer personality of our character; then I continued with the painting of the hair, for this I applied several dark brown tones that I didn't like at all, until finally I decided to try with a medium blond tone quite opaque, that later when I was applying the shines and details of depth I realized that it looked very very well and that it was the right color to give Derryl the appearance of experience that I wanted to transmit in him.

Para la vestimenta de Derryl quise hacer algo un poco diferente y más detallado, es por eso que tuve la idea de pintar una camisa al estilo seda de un color rojo muy llamativo, esto de modo que destacara aun más la personalidad de maestro hechicero de nuestro personaje; luego proseguí con el pintado del cabello, para esto aplique varios tonos marrón oscuro que no me gustaron para nada, hasta que finalmente decidí probar con un tono medio rubio bastante opaco, que luego cuando le fui aplicando los brillos y detalles de profundidad me di cuenta que se veía muy muy bien y que era el color adecuado para darle a Derryl la apariencia de experiencia que quería transmitir en el.

To finish the work I continued painting the magic wand of our sorcerer to which I only added some small details of horizontal relief in variation of reds and brown colors, and finally to complement the work I proceeded to paint a flamed background, this background was also that I was inspired to name the work, I wanted to make a kind of blue flames on Derryl's back, these flames are part of one of the most powerful spells of our wizard which he uses to intimidate but also as a defense barrier to protect himself from rivals while he performs more spells.

Para finalizar la obra proseguí pintado la varita mágica de nuestro hechicero a la cual solo le agregue algunos pequeños detalles de relieve horizontal en variación de rojos y colores castaños, ya por ultimo para complementar la obra procedí a pintar un fondo flameado, de este fondo también fue que me inspire para nombrar la obra, quise hacer unas especies de flamas de color azul a las espaldas de Derryl, estas flamas son parte de uno de los hechizos más poderosos de nuestro hechicero las cuales utiliza para intimidar pero también como barrera de defensa para protegerse de rivales mientras realiza mas encantamientos.
