Da Vinci Self Portrait! - Sharing the Process from Start to Finish

Hi everyone! Sharing with you today a coloured pastel drawing of the famous artist Leonardo Da Vinci and some of the process photos. Leonardo was an amazing artist possibly the best in existence. He didn't produce many paintings in his life however he produced many sketches as he was obsessed with the study of nature! A lot can be learned by practicing the way he drew which is why I have attempted to draw his self portrait below.

The process

I was loose with the coloured pastels as I wanted it to remain expressive however it then meant going over key features in pen to bring them out again when they became lost. This was the
reference image I used.
