A Pencil Sketch; 'Arrows on the Wolf Warrior'

avatar

Having gathered months of experience making portraits, I decided to dabble into my childhood fantasy a bit sometime last week. Usually sketches that appeal to me are really graphic ones like those of demons, monsters, werewolves, superheroes, vampires etc. But after making one or two portrait back in August for the Art Venture Contest I discovered there was much to learn as regards light and presentation of emotions. So I put a pause in my fantasy and went all portrait and I've been on that road for 6 months now.

I've had this impression of a werewolf with multiple arrow wounds for a while now and seeing it in my gallery, I had the urge to make it. I must confess that having learnt and mastered some basic principles over the months this sketch cost me hours less than it would've took back then. Some of the things I love about this sketch is the facial expression and blur at certain points.
Feel free to leave a comment folks, I'm open for criticism...
