Hello my beautiful community!

Today I found a very beautiful insect, on the stairs of my house he was jumping and jumping and today I am going to tell you about him.

This post that I made with a lot of love and motivation is my entry to my friend @adalger contest as I have told you before, his initiatives are amazing, which make you feel motivated to participate in his amazing contests.

This wonderful insect belongs to the suborder of the order Orthoptera and is known in my country as grasshopper and in other places they are called differently, either: grasshoppers or locusts. What is this incredible insect called in your country?

Grasshoppers have a small body divided into three parts: head, thorax and abdomen. They have 2 strong and long legs that allow them to jump 20 times their size. These legs together with the others give a total of 6 legs that these beautiful grasshoppers have.

Grasshoppers have wings, which are always attached to their bodies, which they use to fly long distances just to get food or a mate. The food of this insect is plants and fruits since it is herbivorous.

These grasshoppers have these colors due to the change in the amount of pigments they have in their body, other speculations say that they have this color due to the place where they live in order to use this camouflage with their environment. For example, I released this grasshopper in the soil of my garden and it quickly went and rode on a bush of the same color and at first sight it was not even visible.

Curious Fact: Some grasshoppers are able to make audible noises by rubbing their femurs against the wings attached to their abdomens.

Female grasshoppers lay their eggs in a substance that is always foamy and serves to protect the eggs while they are incubating.

Fun Fact: Females can lay 1,000 to 10,000 eggs in a single day.

They take in air through the spiracle found on the side of their abdomen and the thorax of the grasshopper, or rather they have tracheal respiration. This insect does not have ears on the side of the head like humans, but on the abdomen.

They usually grow or have a size of 5 centimeters or larger, approximately 12.7 centimeters. And the strands are always one size larger than the male.

There are large numbers of species approaching 11,000 grasshoppers known worldwide and there are still new species that are appearing in the wild very beautiful.

Finally, Caelifera or grasshoppers have three life stages: Egg, nymph and finally adult. These insects usually live up to 6 months as long as they have the necessary food and there is an adequate temperature for grasshoppers.

Curious fact: This insect is a good and great source of protein and is usually eaten in the countries of Mexico, Brazil and China. But too bad they eat them, they already have the necessary food and then humans want more and more. I wish it were not so.

This has been all and I have loved writing this, because I like these insects because they have three great qualities, which are: two hind legs that allow them to jump 20 times their own size, they can fly long distances with the wings they have attached to their abdomen and finally, their camouflage which serves them so that no predator can see them and that makes grasshoppers are very peculiar and beautiful insects.
