Butterfly - Leptosia nina | Hypolimnas bolina and Potanthus omaha
Hello Everyone..
There are so many species of butterflies scattered all over the world and on this occasion I share 3 butterfly species that I managed to photograph today and also a few days ago.
In the first photo you can see, this butterfly looks white with brown spots. And he belongs to one of the small butterfly species with wings that look slimmer or pointed than butterflies in general. Scientifically, it is Leptosia nina which is a small butterfly from the Pieridae family (sulfur, yellow and white). Then, this butterfly's habit is to fly lower and closer to the ground, and will stop when it finds flower nectar.
And if you want to see directly this beautiful butterfly, you can find it in Asia, especially Indonesia, which I can confirm is still fairly easy to find in the forest or bushes.
As for the butterfly in the 2nd photo, it is a Great eggfly, I found it in a sweet potato garden not far from my house. He was resting during the day and I was really hoping he would open his wings but it looks like my hopes were in vain and I barely managed to get a photo of him. In habitat, this butterfly can adapt in tropical and suptropical climates. And of course his favorite area is a forest or bush away from human disturbance.
The last photo is Potanthus omaha, a butterfly species that is not foreign to Southeast Asia. Because some countries such as Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia and of course also Indonesia we can meet this butterfly species. And as in general butterflies who like bushes, so does this Potanthus omaha. He will rarely be seen in residential or urban areas, but you will have no trouble finding him in the woods or bushes.
While this Potanthus omaha is a skipper that has two colors, at least that's my observation. Because from what I've ever found he has a yellow color and the other is brown with variations of both.
That's all from me on this occasion, see you again in the next insect post.. :)
