Remember to include "needleworkmonday" as one of the tags!
This is a weekly curation showcasing the needlework of our very own HIVEians. Every Monday we get together to share our love and passion for the needle arts, posting from the NeedleWorkMonday community and using the #needleworkmonday tag. On all other days we use the #needlework tag. We enjoy each other’s creations, ideas, patterns, tips and shortcuts.
We strive to bring to you great quality work filled with tutorials and inspiration. Please help us keep these wonderful needle arts alive and thriving by supporting our creative work and community!
Here are our featured posts this week from members who posted into the NeedleWorkMonday Community and followed our posting guidelines. This week we show you different kinds and aspects of crochet - not the projects per se, but the way you come to them or you use them.
Upcycling with crochet in the kitchen by @silviamaria
Often it's the small things that make you see the world differently. Of course we know about upcycling and perhaps even use old things differently. And as needleworkers, we try to use our abilities in that direction. But this is simple but genius: some old yarn, some old jars - and voilà! You have some nice jars for the kitchen, colorful and useful. With different colors for different jars, you know at first glance which jar you want on a board full of them :)
CROCHET LINEAGE CONTINOUS by @jurich60
We all know @jurich60 as an avid crocheter, have seen her many projects and read her posts about her activities like yarn bombing a tree in a mall with her crochet group. Now she finally has "infected" one of her daughter with crocheting, and we see how active they were: buying yarn, messages went to and fro and beanies were made. Another generation of crocheters - who is supported by her husband, who made a lovely yarn caddy :)
Princess Leia Amigurumi Tutorial by @irenenavarroart
Star Wars and its characters has become part of our myths and fairy tales. The art of making Amigurumi likewise conquered the world. Having a Venezuelan fibre artist making a tutorial about creating a character from an American movie using Japanese crochet methods - it's not only really international, but it shows what the NeedleworkMonday strives to be. Inspiring each other and getting inspired by different things :)
