Unfinished work series, completing my series of unfinished outfits

Hello Needlework family.

Getting the desired inspiration to complete an outfit often time bears alot of task.
I could make some clothes to almost the finishing points and then lack the inspiration of a fitting sleeve.
I have several pieces of unfinished clothes in various stages and I thought that it will be good to go through all of them in series picking each at a time and doing whatever comes to my head.

I want the best
I want the best sleeve, something to wow somebody, I want to create something new, a new design, I want to do this or add that.

That's how I ended up here. 😂

I just picked this, cut and attached two manner of sleeve to it.
I need a final decision on which to leave it with, your ideas are welcome.

Lest I forget, I made this a little while back say two months using my exact measurements, I indeed lost some weight and this can be seen on the dress, I need to hold in the seam allowance.

Which of the sleeves do you prefer.
The bell one with an elastic band or the free flowing one.

To make the sleeve:

  • Its a simple tutorial, I had the basic sleeve cut out
  • Next I cut a rectangular fabric of 20inches or make it 3X the normal round sleeve circumference.

  • Next I had it pleated round the basic sleeve like this

That was how I had completed this unfinished dress. Will still hold in the seam allowance and probably embellish with lovely stones, I want to add some glitters to this

Thanks for the feedback on this

First: the dress is lovely (my own checkered dress is right now hiding in shame :-DDD) The bold pink is such a good choice for the dress and taken in it will hug your curves perfectly. Sadly, I am no real help with the sleeves: I like them both 😂
But I have some thoughts, perhaps this could help you to decide. In my view the open one is more to the trend right now, I see a lot of sleeves which have this kind of ruffle at the cuff. So the open one is clearly very trendy. But... I also like the one with the elastic. It is a bit more geometric and special. It harmonises well with form of the dress.
So, I told you... I am not good in deciding:-DDD

I like how this color looks on you and I prefer the sleeve that is not tight 😃.

I prefer the one with the band. More stylish in my opinion
