While the virus is on the loose around the world wreaking havoc, I'm at home cooped up, devoting myself like a modern-day granny, cyber blogger, to social media and my beloved #Hive. These are the only visits I'm allowed.

This confinement has helped me to find myself again because I was totally lost at work, and that's not worth it, as Juan Gabriel's song says.

In my real life, I like to do handicrafts. I do cross-stitch embroidery, wood painting, and some sewing. I say some sewing because I am not a seamstress, nor a specialist. I have taken two basic courses and one in intimate apparel. I'm going little by little; at a snail's pace.

I embroidered a rose in cross stitch and with this embroidery, I recycled an old cushion. This one was hand-stitched because the machine wouldn't start. It seems to be a problem with the foot pedal. I will look for someone to check it later.

To start my way through this nice Highlighting NeedleWorkMonday Community, I bring you my nice garden.

Greetings to OCD for promoting and supporting the communities with the incubation project.

Colombia. Año 6, número 35. (ISSN 0122-9435).

Embroidery instructions

I embroidered the rose, small flowers, ribbon, and my name "Rebecca". I used a backstitch to make the branches and outlines. Used normal small needles.

Use the following materials to recycle the cushion: pink and white silk fabric, white flannel, scissors, white and pink thread, cross-stitch embroidery, green ribbon raisin, thin salmon and orange ribbon, clear stones, and pink tulle lace.

Step 1: I stuffed the cushion to give it more strength. I used an old pillow stuffing. I made a pouch out of old white flannel.

I got an old flannel of my son's that was destroyed by ants and recycled it.

My son tells me that the ants and I are done with his clothes.

The figure is not damaged, I am going to recycle it too. I will show it to you in another publication.

Step 2: To protect the cushion and prevent the stuffing from showing through, I made a cover for it out of old white pants.

Step 3: I put the pink silk on the front and sewed the embroidery on it. For the back, I used white silk.

Step 4: I put a green ribbon around the edge, with four little bows in the corner and a little transparent stone.

I used thin orange and salmon-colored ribbons.

I enjoyed making my cute cushion and liked the way it turned out. I hope you did too, friends of the Highlighting NeedleWorkMonday community.
