Hello everybody,

My HOTH - hot off the hook today is this personalized summer shirt of our 19th grandson Baby Earth.

Note: I was having a hard time snapping a good shot with this cutie boy.

Last month my sixth daughter together with her 5 kids stayed with us. She helped with the daily household chores and watched the house while we were at the hospital when hubby's blood sugar shoot up, last two weeks. At least the plants were watered and the dogs taken cared off while we were away.

We are currently under hot summer weather, about 31°c daily and notice Baby Earth's shirt
are all with sleeves! Poor baby...ahehehe his mommy no time to buy sando or sleeveless shirt. Crochetist grandma @jurich60 to the rescue!

Last wednesday I started crocheting his prototype shirt. With a peach 4 ply soft indophil and 3.5 crochet hook, I started 22 twin double crochet(dc) foundation line for the body following his old shirt as my pattern and just the simple granny stitch.

When I finished the stitch almost at the underarm, my AHA moments occured and decided to crochet letters E A R T H, his name. I right away scribbled the letters using 5 stitch. I can't find the crossstitch paper, so, I just imagine it. Perfect!

Continued making the neckline...

This afternoon at last the shirt is done. I waited for baby Earth to wake up and fitted.

Although as the maker,am not satisfied with my work, at least it fits him well.

Thanks for dropping by...

He and the shirt are so cute. :) I love his name too!

Why are you not satisfied as the maker? I think it looks great!

Hehehe because the arm part must not be wide just like the undershirt or we call it sando.

Truly a grandmother to the rescue, you have made a beautiful knitted piece for your granddaughter. Your granddaughter is beautiful.

Definitely knitting is a problem solver too, making something knitted that is cool and comfortable for the little one.

Thanks for sharing.

Regards

Iam exactly a week to late and comment on the next needleworkmonday :-DDD Sorry 🙏 It is good to hear you had a bit of support when you needed to go to the hospital with your husband and I hope he feels better now and the blood sugar is under control.
Your grandson is sooooo cute and the shirt you made is perfect. So lovely with his name crocheted onto it. And you are really fast with this - wow!
Not sure why you are not satisfied, I think it is super lovely?
