Este es un proyecto super especial, ya que es uno de los regalo que le haré a mi mamá por el día de las madres. Llevo días pensando en este proyecto, en cómo será el motivo del bordado. Hace unos 15 años, para un regalo de Navidad, le bordé lo que sería una funda para una almohada pequeña, recuerdo que en esa Navidad no estuve en casa porque estaba en un largo viaje, sin embargo dejé el regalo. Ella se puso muy feliz por el regalo, ya que era una especie de kit, el regalo llevaba la tela para hacer la funda, parte de ella bordada, también llevaba la tela con lo que haría el forro de la almohada y el relleno sintético para rellenar el forro. Adicional, llevaba tira bordada, la cual usaría como decoración de la orilla de la funda. Mi mamá cose, así que para ella el kit no representaría un problema al momento de armar la funda y el forro. Recuerdo que el motivo del bordado, llevaba la palabra mamá en unas letras muy lindas y también bordé flores y mariposas, realmente fue un bordado muy tierno.

Como la funda se deterioró, por ello he decidido bordar parte de una tela, y volver a regalarle un kit con todo lo necesario para que tenga su nueva almohada pequeña con su funda bordada.

Inicialmente, pensé en bordar algo similar a lo bordado en la almohada anterior, pero cuando me senté a organizar los materiales y pensar en los gustos de mi madre, me llegó la inspiración perfecta y me puse super feliz por ello. Les comento, mi mamá es fiel devota de Jesús de la Misericordia, ella hace religiosamente todos los días el rosario a las 3:00 p.m. Amante de la Virgen en cualquiera de sus nombres, así que voy a bordar un rosario y la frase Jesús en Ti confío, he quedado muy conmovida con el motivo que estaré bordando.

This is a very special project, as it is one of the gifts I will give to my mom for Mother's Day. I have been thinking about this project for days, how the embroidery motif will be. About 15 years ago, for a Christmas gift, I embroidered what would be a pillowcase for a small pillow, I remember that on that Christmas I was not at home because I was on a long trip, however I left the gift. She was very happy for the gift, as it was a kind of kit, the gift had the fabric to make the pillowcase, part of it embroidered, it also had the fabric with which I would make the lining of the pillow and the synthetic stuffing to fill the lining. In addition, I had embroidered strip, which I would use to decorate the border of the pillowcase. My mom sews, so for her the kit would not be a problem when putting the pillowcase and lining together. I remember that the embroidery motif was the word "mom" in very pretty letters and I also embroidered flowers and butterflies, it was really a very tender embroidery.

As the cover deteriorated, so I decided to embroider part of a fabric, and re-gift her a kit with everything she needs to have her new little pillow with its embroidered cover.

Initially, I thought of embroidering something similar to what I embroidered on the previous pillow, but when I sat down to organize the materials and think about my mother's tastes, I got the perfect inspiration and I was super happy about it. I tell you, my mom is a faithful devotee of Jesus of Mercy, she religiously makes the rosary every day at 3:00 pm. Lover of the Virgin in any of her names, so I am going to embroider a rosary and the phrase Jesus in You I trust, I have been very moved with the motif that I will be embroidering.

Los materiales / The materials

Los materiales que voy a usar también hacen al proyecto super especial, ya que eran de mi hermana mayor, mi hermana falleció hace cinco años, era médico cirujano oncólogo, como la enfermedad le imposibilitaba estar en quirófanos operando, usó todo su tiempo para dedicarse al arte, pintó, tejió en muchas técnicas, y también bordó, así que el hecho de que el regalo de mi madre lleve los hilos de bordado de ella, la harán muy feliz.

Como les comenté estaré bordando un rosario y la frase Jesús en Ti confío, de momento no he seleccionado el tipo de letra, lo que si seleccioné fue el rosario, lo tomé de pinterest. A continuación, podrán observar la imagen. Este motivo estará ubicado al lado izquierda de la labor.

La tela / The fabric

Me hubiese gustado que la tela para bordar, conocida como etamina, fuese de color blanco, fui a comprar y no había. Así que usaré la que tengo en color rosa y tratar de juzgar adecuadamente con la gama de colores para que el resultado luzca hermoso.

I would have liked the embroidery fabric, known as etamine, to be white, but I went to buy it and there was none. So I will use the one I have in pink and try to judge properly with the color range so that the result looks beautiful.

Para asegurarme de las dimensiones de la funda (largo y ancho) tomé la medida de una funda pequeña, planché y corté la tela. Luego hice una guía para saber cuál será el área en que realizaré el bordado.

To make sure of the dimensions of the cover (length and width) I took the measurement of a small cover, ironed and cut the fabric. Then I made a guide to know which area I will embroider.

Beginning to embroider the rosary / Comenzando a bordar el rosario

Les confieso algo, no soy experta en esta técnica, espero que el resultado final luzca muy bien. Comencé el bordado por la parte de la cruz.

I confess something, I am not an expert in this technique, I hope the final result looks great. I started the embroidery on the cross part.

Voy avanzando, espero mostrar avances el próximo lunes y mejorar la técnica cada día. Creo que voy a deshacer, no me está gustando cómo va quedando queda, ¿qué opinan?
