Combining drawing and weaving [ENG] / Combinando dibujo y tejido [ESP]
El resultado de este proyecto no fue lo que inicialmente me planteé, de hecho lo que había imaginado extrañamente no llevaba tejido.
Hay dos actividades que me gustan mucho, pintar y cantar, ninguna de las dos se me da muy bien. Para obsequiar a un amigo amore de mi corazón, quise intentar dibujar un árbol y para ello iba a usar la técnica grafito, pues resulta que luego que hice el árbol con un lápiz de grafito, se me ocurre hacer cadenetas para delinear el tallo y luego hacer las hojitas tejidas.
A continuación les muestro el proceso de cómo lo realicé. Así es el arte en cualquiera de sus expresiones, es de inspiración y debemos seguirla y así nutrir día a día la creatividad.
The result of this project was not what I had initially envisioned, in fact what I had imagined was strangely not woven.
There are two activities that I really enjoy, painting and singing, neither of which I am very good at. To give a gift to a friend dear to my heart, I wanted to try to draw a tree and for that I was going to use the graphite technique, it turns out that after I made the tree with a graphite pencil, it occurred to me to make chains to outline the stem and then make the woven leaves.
Below I show you the process of how I did it. That's how art is in any of its expressions, it is an inspiration and we must follow it and thus nurture creativity day by day.
Los materiales
Para este proyecto usé, una hoja de cartulina tamaño carta, tijeras para cortar hilo y papel, ganchillo con media de 2.0, hilo acrílico en color marrón para el tallo del árbol, hilo acrílico en color verde para las hojas del árbol y pega.

For this project I used, a sheet of card stock, scissors to cut yarn and paper, crochet hook with 2.0 stocking, brown acrylic yarn for the tree stem, green acrylic yarn for the tree leaves and glue.
Instrucciones
Paso 1
Sobre la cartulina con un lápiz de grafito comencé a dibujar un árbol. Cuando dibujaba me imaginaba un árbol genealógico. Pensé mientras dibujaba, luego haré el árbol genealógico de mi familia.
Instructions
Step 1
On the cardboard with a graphite pencil I began to draw a tree. As I drew I imagined a family tree. I thought to myself as I drew, later I will make my family tree.
Paso 2
Con el hilo marrón realicé una cadeneta, y la comencé a pegar sobre la silueta del tallo. Es un trabajo minucioso el de pegar sobre la cartulina, ya que se debe evitar excederse en la cantidad de pega y así evitar el resultado no se vea prolijo.
Step 2
With the brown thread I made a chain and began to glue it on the silhouette of the stem. It is a meticulous work to glue it on the cardboard, since it is important not to exceed the amount of glue and thus avoid the result does not look neat.
Lo maravilloso de este proceso, es que iba tejiendo cadenetas a medida que necesitaba, es decir pegaba cadenetas, se me acababan y las tejía, todo este proceso sin cortar el hilo.
The wonderful thing about this process is that I was weaving chains as I needed them, that is, I would glue chains, run out and weave them, all this process without cutting the yarn.
Paso 3
Luego comenzó la parte más divertida, tejer las hojitas, iba tejiendo hojitas y las iba colocando, fue muy especial esta parte por el simbolismo de lo que representa un árbol y que sus hojas representan cobijo, esperanzas, brillo...

Then began the most fun part, weaving the leaves, I was weaving leaves and placing them, this part was very special because of the symbolism of what a tree represents and that its leaves represent shelter, hope, brightness...
Paso 4
Luego de pegar todas las hojitas, recorté la cartulina bordeando todo el árbol.

After gluing all the leaves, I cut the cardboard around the tree.
Finalmente lo que comenzó como un dibujo se convirtió en una tarjeta a la que agregué tejido. Coloqué una frase que a mi amigo adorado y a mí nos conmueve y tiene para ambos un significado especial. Le tomé una foto a la tarjeta, se la envié y su respuesta "MARAVILLOSO"
Finally what started as a drawing became a card to which I added fabric. I placed a phrase that touches my adored friend and me and has a special meaning for both of us. I took a picture of the card, sent it to her and her response "WONDERFUL".

I am really surprised buy your artwork: first I never saw this technique (using a crochet chain for “painting”) and I am impressed that you glued it on the cardboard and there are no glue residues visible - wow. At first I thought you embroidered the tree, but the crochet idea is so much better and perhaps a bit faster?
I can envision this on a garment (sorry, I am obsessed with making clothes :-DDDD) I think this would look extremely cute on a cardigan or sweater or a hat <3

Yes, I didn't know it could be done either, it occurred to me after I made the tree, I liked the way it looks,

Se vería genial en un cuaderno, y lo bueno es que desde la portada empieza el cambio hacía una buena organización usando un cuaderno para tal propósito.
Cuando estaba bordeando el árbol con las cadenetas, llegaste a mi mente, y me dije que seguramente a ti te quedaría muy bien por lo cuidadosa que eres con los detalles.
