Amigurumi - Personajes peruanos #9: El chasqui - Imperio incaico

Los chasquis, eran los mensajeros del Imperio Inca. Estos mensajes eran cifrados en quipus (instrumento de almacenamiento de información) y contenían registros oficiales e información logística para el imperio. Proviene de la palabra quechua chaskiq “el que recibe o da”.

The chasquis, they were the messengers of the Inca Empire. These messages were encrypted in quipus (information storage instrument) and contained official records and logistical information for the empire. It comes from the Quechua word chaskiq "he who receives or gives".

Mediante el sistema de relevos, ellos corrían cada 2.4 kilómetros de manera que el mensaje era entregado al otro chasqui. Así cubrían grandes distancias en corto tiempo. Podían correr hasta 320 kilómetros en un día, es decir, en 4 días recorrían desde la capital Cusco-Perú hasta Quito-Ecuador, cuya distancia es de 1250 kilómetros. Recordemos que el Imperio Incaico tiene geografía accidentada, por lo que atravesaban, montañas, precipicios, ríos y junglas, dominado por la cordillera de los andes.

Through the relay system, they ran every 2.4 kilometers so that the message was delivered to the other chasqui. So they covered great distances in a short time. They could run up to 320 kilometers in one day, that is, in 4 days they ran from the capital Cusco-Peru to Quito, Ecuador, a distance of 1250 kilometers. Let's remember that the Inca Empire has a rugged geography, so they crossed mountains, cliffs, rivers and jungles, dominated by the Andes.

A tejer:

Por todo lo escrito antes, los chasquis me parecen personas extraordinarias, por lo que tenían que ser parte de este proyecto “Personajes peruanos”. Este amigurumi mide 14 centímetros y fue diseñado por @inici-arte.

For all that I wrote before, the chasquis seem to me to be extraordinary people, so they had to be part of this project "Peruvian Characters". This amigurumi is 14 centimeters long and was designed by @inici-arte.

Para tejerlo, se realizó algunos cambios al patrón base de los mini personalizados. Esta vez se le agregó alambre para darle movimiento a las piernas (figura 1). Además, se tejió el Uncu, es una túnica sin mangas (figura 2). La cabeza fue tejida de manera proporcional al tamaño del cuerpo y se le agregó cabello. Desde un inicio se utiliza como guía un dibujo (figura 3). Luego se le agregó una vinchita con plumas (figura 4).

To knit it, some changes were made to the base pattern of the custom mini. This time wire was added to give movement to the legs (figure 1). Also, the Uncu was woven, it is a sleeveless tunic (figure 2). The head was woven in proportion to the size of the body and hair was added. From the beginning a drawing is used as a guide (figure 3). Then a feathered headband was added (figure 4).

Para completar el personaje, se tejió las ojotas o sandalias, la “chuspa” que es una bolsa donde llevaba su alimento. No se tejió el “qepi” que es un manto donde llevaba cosas, debido a que me basé en una imagen referencial distinta donde el manto tapa el quepi. Para la próxima, sí lo incluiré.

To complete the character, he woven his flip-flops or sandals, the “chuspa" which is a bag where he carried his food. The "qepi" was not woven, which is a mantle where he carried things, because I based myself on a different referential image where the mantle covers the quepi. For the next one, I will include it.
