Amigurumi #92: The Grinch II

Y llegó el Grinch, una vez más…

Diciembre es un mes festivo, lleno de alegría y felicidad. Al ser el último mes del año, es un mes de cambios, lleno de análisis de nuevos propósitos y metas para el año siguiente. Si fuese un año normal, las personas visitarían a sus familiares y amigos, pero no lo es. Aunque de seguro se comunicarán por video llamadas o plataformas de video grupales.

December is a festive month, full of joy and happiness. As it is the last month of the year, it is a month of change, full of analysis of new purposes and goals for the coming year. If it were a normal year, people would visit their families and friends, but it is not. Although they will certainly communicate through video calls or group video platforms.

El Grinch, tiene una personalidad interesante, porque se cuestiona y no sigue el ritmo de los demás. Analiza el comportamiento de los demás y entiende la lógica que siguen. Creo que entendí al Grinch de inmediato porque varias veces fui la espectadora de las festividades y no entendía cómo a las personas les divierte tanto algo absurdo (me refiero a otras festividades como los carnavales, las yunzas, las corridas de toros, los toros locos, las vacas locas, los payasos que dicen chistes con doble sentido o con groserías menospreciando a las personas, entre otros).

The Grinch, has an interesting personality, because he questions himself and does not follow the rhythm of others. He analyses the behaviour of others and understands the logic they follow. I think I understood the Grinch immediately because several times I was the spectator of the festivities and I didn't understand how people enjoy something so absurd (I'm referring to other festivities such as carnivals, yunzas, bullfights, mad bulls, mad cows, clowns who tell jokes with double meanings or with rudeness belittling people, among others).

En el fondo, lo que nos hace distinto a otras especies es el compañerismo, el tenernos unos a otros, la convivencia y tolerancia, la fraternidad, el formar equipos, el sentirnos integrados e identificarnos con quienes piensan de manera similar a nosotros. Y por supuesto, el cuestionar nuestras acciones antes de tomar decisiones. Hoy en día, muchos se dejan llevar por lo superficial sobre todo por estas fechas. Si bien el materialismo y consumismo siguen vigente, debería ser con moderación.

At the end of the day, what makes us different from other species is the companionship, the having each other, the coexistence and tolerance, the fraternity, the forming of teams, the feeling of integration and identification with those who think similarly to us. And of course, to question our actions before making decisions. Today, many people are allowing themselves to be led by the superficial, especially at this time of year. Although materialism and consumerism are still prevalent, it should be in moderation.

A tejer/ To weave:

La versión del año pasado no me agradó mucho (enlace al final). Esta vez tejí al Grinch parado y mide 20 centímetros con todo y gorra. Sí, al inicio parecía un sapo, luego le agregué brazos y piernas (figuras 1, 2 y 3).

Last year's version did not please me very much (link at the end). This time I knitted the Grinch standing up and measuring 20 centimetres with everything and cap. Yes, at first he looked like a toad, then I added arms and legs (figures 1, 2 and 3).

Lleva un saco veraniego y sin mangas (jaja), porque en aquí la navidad cae en primavera – verano (figura 4). Luego le agregué un borde blanco (figura 5). Para el borde del gorro tejí 3 puntos medios altos en cada punto, para darle un toque como blondas (figura 6).

He wears a summer jacket and without sleeves (haha), because here Christmas falls in spring - summer (figure 4). Then I added a white border (figure 5). For the border of the hat I knitted 3 medium high stitches in each stitch, to give it a touch like doilies (figure 6).
