GIVING LIFE TO MY OLD CLOTHS // MODIFIED A PAIR OF JEANS

Hello guys,

It has been a while since the last time I posted cause I have been busy experimenting with new creative stuff. Also weather has been so good the last 3 weeks and I enjoy going for a walk, especially at 2:00 p.m. when the sun is really hot!😎

So as I told you before, these days I have been experimenting on changing the style of my old clothes and give them a new fresh. I started with some old overused pair of jeans which I have been wearing for many many years, so in case something went wrong, I wouldn't miss it.

First of all, I traced the back pockets on a rice paper and cut it at the right dimensions. I chose a furry synthetic fabric with zebra print to cover the pockets of my old jeans and give them a funky style. Having the cutted rice paper, I used it as a guide to cut the fabric.✂️

So I cut the fabric and I left 2cm extra at every side cause it is important for the sewing later. I tried to fix the fabric to the pocket with some pins and I started sewing.

You really have to be careful and patience with sewing cause it is easy to confuse the threads if you work in rush. As you can see I covered every corner of the pocket with fabric and I did the same for the other back pocket.

This is the result of both sides, it might have imperfections but I think that generally it went good as a first attempt.👍

I am happy with the result, I think these modifications gave a brand new style and a fresh air to my old jeans.😀

That's all from my first attempt to modify my old clothes, I am really excited trying new things and I enjoyed the whole process of this project. More posts like this one will come soon, I hope you enjoyed it! 😄

Stay possitive & creative🌺

Hello @illusivelf! Welcome to the NeedleWorkMonday Community!

I’d say your old jeans definitely have a new flare. It’s always fun adding some spice to our favorite garments. Thank you for sharing some of the process with us.

Every week needleworkers from around the globe get together to share our work, patterns, tips, ideas and shortcuts as we support one another. Our goal is to inspire the Hive blockchain to give crafting a try.

On Monday’s we use the #needleworkmonday tag and on all other days we use the #needlework tag without the word Monday attached. We share and post our work directly from the Community page.

We encourage our members to share the process of their work through photos (as you have done above). This not only validates your work but it takes us along the creative journey with you :)

For more information about what we do and for our posting guidelines please visit our FAQs.

Thank you. I look forward to seeing some more of your creative needlework ~
