Hello, friends especially needleworkers in this @needleworkmonday community!

Today i would like to share what i made on the weekend, a medal cushion. It is special cause i gave it to mom, the history would be last week mom told me that what doctor had asked her to do, cycling on her mini static bike which i had bought her was easy, but she worried that her feet would a bit sick cause the plastic material of the pedal so she needed a soft thin cushion for this part.. so i made it for her. I got an idea to hand embroider it first, to make it prettier and to motivate her in doing the exercise. This project reflects my character cause i always want to make everything prettier with my needle work plus it also has effective usage. So here they created.

Now enough about the prologue let's check how i made it easily.

Materials and things i used:

  • natural colour fabric
  • embroidery hoop
  • embroidery needle
  • embroidery floss in pink, black and blue
  • sewing needle
  • ruler
  • pencil
  • sewing thread in red/any colour and white
  • fabric rope
  • scissors
  • facial cotton

How i made it:

First i started by measuring the pedal (it was 10cm x4cm) then i measured a larger on the fabrics for the sewing. Then i wrote down the word 'step on' one one fabric.

Then put it on the embroidery hoop and then hand embroidery the word. For this embroidery i used 4 strains of the floss. For the step word i combined the blue and pink, first i used the blue for S. Continue it to the pink. Then i did the same for TEP.

After finished, i embroider the O with blue. Then N with pink, later i wrote down 1,2,3 GO!

For 1 i embroidered with blue, 2 with blue and pink, 3 with pink, G with blue and 0 with pink. For the , and !, i used black floss. After the embroidery finished, i cut off the fabric then fold a bit of the fabric inside, top and bottom part. I hand sew using red thread for the helper.

Hand sew with the white thread, while that i also release the red sew helper. I also put a bit facial cotton inside. Then sew 4 fabric ropes on each corner of the two cushions.

Voila it's all finished. Now i could put it on mom's mini static bike pedals. Look!

Now she could bike without hurting her feet :). Happy exercise mom, Happy needleworking friends!

Clever idea to protect your moms feet. I think this will help her to stick to the exercise (because if her feet hurt, it would be no fun). ANd not only did you invented something very practical, it is also cute 🥰
Mine has heart and blood pressure problems and should also use a stationary bike at home, but she finds it hard on the knees, I fear I cannot help with crafting....

i think you couldn't help her with your craft, but how about changing the bike to the lowest weight?

This was a really nice creative gift for your mom. I hope she enjoys her workouts and is able to stay comfortable while doing so. Nice way to encourage her as well :)
