Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today I will be sharing the process I used in achieving this sweater I made for @maverieux000.

It did take a while for me to finish because I had a lot of projects to work on, but I am finally done and I am excited to share it with you all.

Materials
Any medium weight yarn (I used 100% acrylic yarn)
A size 4.5mm crochet hook.

Rw – row
FPBPDC – Front post back post double crochet
Hdc - half double crochet.

The sweater is worked in two panels (the front and the back panel) and it is worked from the bottom to the top. I started with the front panel. First I did the waistband using the FPBPDC method.

For the waistband I started with a chain of 84 and made double in every chain till the end of the first row. Then I made FPBPDC in the next 5 Rws (Rw 2-6).

For the main body piece, I used HDC. To begin I made an increase in every odd row from Rw 7- 17 and then I continued with regular Hdc on every row till I got to Rw 47.

From Rw 47 to 65 I made a decrease on every odd row. This decrease is to represent the armpit area, although you could do without the increase if you are comfortable with that.

Rw 66 to 77 I made regular HDC (i.e no increase, no decrease). Then I worked the neck region from Rw 77 – 86.

This is what it looks like after I was done with the front panel.

The back panel is done in the same way except I started the neck region on Rw 82. This is what it looks like.

Making the sleeves was quite easy. Using the same pattern to make the band, I started with a chain of 44. Then I continued with the same pattern, however, I made an increase after every 3 regular rows.

Here is how it came out.

Once I was done with making all the panels all I had to do was join the pieces together. For this, you could use a darning needle, but I used single crochet joining because I am more comfortable with that.

I started with joining both shoulders, then both sleeves and finally the body pieces.

Here's the final look. I hope you like it.

@maverieux000 rocking it so well🥰

WHat a cool sweater! I love the blue and black color mix, looks stylish and trendy at the Sam time. I hope you got a lot of love (or what ever you wish to receive... perhaps a lot of money, flowers or books?) for this amazing work from @maverieux000. The sweater fits him really good. Did you improvised with the pattern or did you made it before or used a bought pattern?

Thank you so much for your kind words. I improvised with the pattern, I had already made something like this before so it was relatively easy to work this one.

Oh it turned out great! I still have never done a sweater for a human ...I've made them for dolls! Ha ha. I'm very impressed by full-size sweater making.

Thank you for your comment. I have never tried making something for a doll before, I feel like that is more difficult to do because everything is done in a really small size.

Super well-done sweater. I can see you clearly have talent. I LOVE crochet! I mostly sew but crochet is fun. It's been a long time since I've done anything though.

Great photos and I like the colors you chose.

Congrats on finishing this lovely sweater.

~Love, Cyn

Thank you! I also sew but I find crochet more interesting and easier in a way.
