How I made this beautiful 2 in 1 dress.

Hello all, hope you're enjoying your holiday.

Fashion is something I'm very passionate about and yes I love to sew.

I want to share with you some of the work I did during the holiday.

This is a very beautiful dress with a detachable ball net which makes the style a 2 in 1 dress.🤭

Materials needed.

Lace
Tulle
Zipper
Matching lining
Trimmies
Client's measurement
Thread.

The material was brought in by my client, it's white lace with stones that could break needles, it wasn't easy working with the lace, I used almost a pack of sewing machine needles.

But it was fun working with the fabrics I particularly loved the chosen style.

The style is just a regular fitted dress with a detachable net.

I folded the upper bodice and used the half-length measurement to get the length of the upper bodice.

I measured the bust of my client, the underbust and waist divided all by 2 each, then I transferred the measurement to the fabrics to which I added two inches of allowance for sewing, I did the same for the back and added the zipper allowance too.

This is the front upper bodice, after cutting, I just placed the lining beneath to take this picture to give you insight into what it would look like.

I did the same for the back.

Then I went ahead to cut the down part of the dress.
It's pretty simple, just deduct your half-length from the full dress length, fold it in 2, and cut, placing the waist and hip measurements In it.
Which is visible in this picture at the end of the other side.

Then you do the same for the back adding the zipper allowance.

Then I cut the lining the same way and then I proceeded to sew.

I joined the down parts together and did the same for the upper bodice to make it a dress.

For the detachable net, I used about 9 yards of tulle just to give it a full effect, since it's detachable, it wasn't going to go around the waist.

I made a gathered stitch on it and then measured about half my client's waist circumference, which was the circumference of the detachable net.

After making a gathered stitch, I went ahead to use the trimmers or applies them to form a band on the stitch to give it a finished look.

It is worn separately, after wearing the dress, then comes the detachable net.

So this is the finished look of the dress with the detachable net.

This is the front view of the dress with the detachable net.

And here is the back view.

My client isn't the bride hehe, she was a guest but the wedding color was white so she trusted me to give her something unique and fine.

How long did it take me to finish this dress? Both cutting and sewing, approximately 3 hours.

The thing that makes my work enjoyable is music and food. Please I am a foodie😹.

The pictures were taken when she came for the fittings.

I hope it came out nice.

All images used are mine

Thanks for reading.
