Before starting to make the swimsuit, I went with my husband to buy some supplies that we needed at home, I did not expect that the supermarket would be with so many people and the queue to cancel was endless, so we returned later than expected. planned and, I only had time to cut the swimsuit, I don't like to sew so late, I always prefer to take advantage of the daylight so as not to strain my eyes so much.
Ayer en la mañana me llamó tía Manuela, para preguntarme que si podía hacer un traje de baño para una nena, ya que quería dárselo como regalo de cumpleaños, por supuesto que le dije que sí. Antes de ponerme a elaborar el traje de baño, fui con mi esposo a comprar algunos insumos que necesitábamos en casa, no me esperaba que el supermercado iba a estar con tanta gente y la cola para cancelar era interminable, así que regresamos más tarde de lo previsto y, solo me dio tiempo de cortar el traje de baño, no me gusta coser tan tarde, siempre prefiero aprovechar la luz del día para no forzar tanto la vista.

👙 As they gave me the freedom to choose the model and the fabric, I decided to take out the ones I have with special prints and colors for girls, I loved the combination of flowers with fuchsia and apple green. When we go to buy lycra and lining for swimwear or sportswear, it is important that the fabric stretches on all four sides (width, length and towards the corners), also that they are resistant to sea water and chlorine in swimming pools.
👙 Como me dieron libertad de escoger el modelo y la tela, me dispuse a sacar las que tengo con estampados y colores especiales para niñas, me encantó la combinación de las flores con el fucsia y el verde manzana. Cuando vamos a comprar lycra y forro para traje de baño o ropa deportiva es importante que la tela estire para los cuatro ladas (ancho, largo y hacia las esquina), también que sean resistentes al agua del mar y el cloro de las piscinas.
👙 I am going to decorate the upper part of the swimsuit with a ruffle, especially this piece must be cut very carefully since I am not going to sew the edges, nor place any other decorative element, so I want it to be as as lengthy as possible.
👙 La parte de arriba del traje de baño lo voy a decorar con un volado, especialmente esta pieza hay que cortarla con mucho cuidado ya que no le voy a hacer costura en los bordes, ni colocar otro elemento de decoración, así que quiero que quede lo más prolijo posible.
👙 The crotch and the side, we sew it so that the seam is hidden, I particularly like to double seam it to make it safer because lycra is a very slippery fabric.
👙 La entrepierna y el costado, lo cosemos de manera que nos quede la costura escondida, particularmente me gusta hacerle doble costura para que quede más segura porque la lycra es una tela muy resbalosa.
👙 I reinforced the strap with a hand seam, since it is the piece that will serve as the swimsuit's adjustment, before sewing on the machine I like to baste the ruffles first, I tell you that I did it on the back, not only the I had to unsew, but also re-cut another piece since I had cut off the leftovers.
👙 La tira la reforcé con una costura a mano, ya que es la pieza que servirá de ajuste del traje de baño, antes de coser en la máquina me gusta bastear primero las volados, les cuento que lo hice por la parte posterior, no solo lo tuve que descoser, sino que también volver a cortar otra pieza ya que le había cortado los sobrantes.
👙 To finish I went over the seams with zigzag, we can also do it with the double needle.👙 Para finalizar repisé las costuras con zigzag, también lo podemos hacer con la aguja doble.
