Hi guys! I want to share these photos with everybody. Yesterday when I was cooking lunch the landlord called us from their house, "My dogs kill the lizard eating my eggs chicken!" Then I stopped cooking and go to look at what happended. I saw the lizard is dead already but the dogs like to bits it for pleasure.

Amazing Nature Contest - April 2021 - #03

Oh I saw that and I was feeling sad ๐Ÿ˜ž. After maybe five minutes the landlord saw a tiny snake in their garden. Then he called his dogs and the dogs so fast came to catch and bite the snake. Maybe 10 to 20 seconds after the snake was dead.

This lizard is so big and fat, it looks a little scary.

Here there are many lizards like this and other different kinds too. The landlord said "Monitor lizards love to eat eggs, I lost a lot of my eggs."

Some people in Suriname eat this also.

The landlord is picking beans in the garden. He gave me some beans also, and while he was picking beans and talking with Monkey-B, he saw a tiny snake. He called his dogs to kill the snake.

I heard "snake" and it made me very scared. I tried to escape from the leaves near the snake but the dogs are very fast, I not yet leave there and they bite the snake already. Those times we are running fast in the garden.

Before we see the snake I was taking pictures of beans so my camera is already open, before I run I have one photo of it also.

I think I know this snake because in my country we have it also. It does not have poison but I am still scared of it, in my country we call it "cow rope snake."

They bite the tiny snake, and I donโ€™t know what I can do to help the snake because these dogs don't listen to me.

I donโ€™t call the dogs to kill this snake because this snake does not have poison. These dogs are very strong and smart too, they listen to their owner so much.

The question is? are wild animals the invaders or are we? It is not good at all to allow our pets to kill wild species! for example cats! By not being neutered they have already destroyed reptile populations in many countries! then we complain that there is an infestation of rats in the surroundings .... Those dogs have just killed two predatory pest controllers!

They are ownerโ€™s dogs, so they are freedom, I canโ€™t to control them but if they are my mind I teach them love animals living around us. But not the mouse in the house. Thank you very for your feedback and your time ๐Ÿ˜Š. !ENGAGE 35

Wow it is such a different world you live in. There is so much going on with nature in the tropics. I feel sad for the monitor. I really like lizards. In Bangkok I was amazed by the monitors in the park. For a Canadian it is exciting. I don't blame the dogs though. It is their instinct especially when the owner calls them to do the killing. I am afraid of snakes but I don't want them dead.

This is a great post my friend!

Yes, I feel the same! I really scared the snakes but I donโ€™t want to it died. This snake is very gentle, when I was young I did not see it and I catch it with the tree, it made me very surprised but itโ€™s like cow rope, itโ€™s doesnโ€™t make anything give we scared it but we scared it by ourselves, I think it scared us the same. So if we scared them we just run leave from them, why need to kill them if we don't eat them? This is just my mind. The people have ideas not the same. The poor people kill animals for eating because want to have life live over but some rich people kill them because enjoy. This is real life for humans in the world. Thank you my friend for stopping by. !ENGAGE 40

Yes, it's, but I just like these beans a little bit because it's hard and not delicious like the other beans. When I saw it in the store I have never buy it but itโ€™s better for free ๐Ÿ˜. Thank you @thekittygirl for your comment. !ENGAGE 15

We must be attentive whenever we are in areas with vegetation, since it is not known, as in this case it was only a snake without venous, there are others that do,

Thank god nothing happened

Hey, did you find out about the brand that the lizard has in its color? They say that this mark is because surely the lizard had previously lost its tail and regenerated again, that's why it looks that way

Quite interesting. The monitor lizards are similar to iguanas? There are iguanas there as well?
I would avoid walking in grass. ๐Ÿ˜†
