Flowery Thoughts

avatar

Flowers have always had the power to enchant, calm fill the mind with feelings of happiness and love. For me there is nothing like stepping into my garden and taking a fill of these amazing mood enhancers to make my day. The power of flowers to capture every sense sight, smell, taste etc. is amazing. When I was a little girl I would eat tamarind flowers, the tangy taste always had me begging for more. I love the peppery taste of nasturtium which I only recently discovered, roses have always been in our food for centuries.

Here are some flowers you may or may not have seem in macro. I just had fun doing this yesterday. Take a closer look when you see macro images it opens up a whole new world.

Flower buds inside a flower? You don't believe me? Amazing design right? Take a look at the yellow dots in the middle of this zinnia at a later stage in the image below.

In this zinnia you would see the tiny yellow buds have bloomed already some are yet to bloom. Nature is amazing right?

Take a closer look at this waterlily, see the way the colors blend and repeat themselves. We could take some lessons for our painting and artworks from here.

A single Hoya flower with a star shaped base soft and fluffy, a jelly like flower in the center shaded in a wine red looks almost edible.

Can you see a little flower like thing on the stamen and the pollen all over the lower petals? That means a bee or some pollinator has visited this flower already.

A bunch of tiny flowers to show how they relate to each other in size.

The crown of thorns flowers with thick jelly like nectar in the middle

The Chinese hat this flower hasn't fully bloomed as yet.

Another Chinese hat ready to bloom.

I hoped you liked my macro collection today.

Thanks for taking a look, I appreciate your interest.

I have said it elsewhere that flowers have the capacity to speak to the soul of men with enchantment and mild attraction.
The soothing relief you get when you see some of these flowers, the Chinese hat, crown of thorns (The one Jesus wore? not), hoya, the stamen sticking to the pollen and much more in this post lives your mind bewildered.

Glad you think this way, they always speak to my soul.
Nah, the crown of thorns is just called so because of its appearance, it isn't even found in the middle East region.
I enjoy capturing these flowers and it opens my eyes to a wide new world.
Thanks for visiting @mrenglish, much appreciated.

these are incredible!!! and they're in the same pot???? how is that possible! did you pick and place them in there??? lol i'm so confused! hahahaha

its funny that you said that we could take lessons from nature. My mom is an amazing artist and she would always look at the sky and the flowers and say - God is such an incredible artist! He puts colors together that I would never think of! And it comes out beautiful every time!

I love that she would see things that I didn't. When she would look at the sky - she saw it as a painter. And would think to herself - how could I recreate this... what colors would I use? What brushstrokes??

and I would just look at the sky and take it for what it was. Not that I wouldn't appreciate it! Because I did! But I didn't see it the way she saw it. She saw it with the eye of an apprentice training under a Master.

But I would have similar things of looking at the world - and be in awe over them, where she would simply take THAT for granted as I took the sky.

For me - the things that would amaze me is how God knows every detail of every life. He not only manages EVERY DETAIL and cares over every single thing... but He also weaves it perfectly together with another life - where He knows every detail there too.

I remember at times I would drive on the highway (I'd be in the passenger seat) and we would pass a car and I'd just happen to look over at the driver there. Something about that particular driver would catch my attention. And I'd start to wonder about the details of their life. And I'd think... I only know the color of car they have right now. But God knows every thing about their life. EVERY thing. and if there are other passengers - same. And God knew that I would be passing this person right NOW. and that this person would have an impact - even a small one - on my life. and then I'd look ahead - and to the side - and behind - and see ALL these cars on the highway
and think....

each one is a story. each one is right here- at this specific time - because God has deemed it so. And we are all threads in a master tapestry that He is weaving.

Some will have more impact on us - some less - but all purposeful and intentional. And we may never know why. But He does.

and then I'd blow my own mind and think....

and this is just one stretch of highway here.

But every life in the world fits into that tapestry too.

Amazing. truly AWE some

and He still takes the time to paint each flower for us too :)

No, no I just picked these flowers and put them on a tiny bunch of sedum I am growing in a tiny plastic food container.
The lush growth gives a better background and contrast for these blooms.
I gotta agree with your mom. He is the master painter, creator and artist.
Yup, he knows every detail, he brings people into our life for a reason. I just met someone and bang on there was a reason for this meeting.
Yeah, we all fit into his perfect plan, we all have a purpose and a place.
Amazingly we fit it so well into that tapestry making a perfect design.
Awe + sum indeed.. the reverence and awe each piece of his creation strikes in my heart when I watch it from close angles.
He is amazing indeed!

I always say He is the Master of Sudoku hahahaha

because i love that game - how every number fits JUST so. and it has only ONE place that its meant to be - exactly where He wants it :)

so many times as as child I used to think that my sin - or my mistake - somehow booted me from where He wanted me to be.

but that's not how it works. He knows what we will do - and the mistakes that we will make - and He uses them to keep us EXACTLY where we need to be. There is no "booting" out.

We are right where we are - and He meets us there and moves us, in spite of our mistakes - and our wrong choices... He makes it all good.

i
love
that :)

His qualities - his love, tender mercies , slow to anger, compassion, his benevolence his patience .. John 3:16 .
Why would do anything contrary to who he is and condemn us.. we do it it for ourselves.
I used to think so too.. that our sin boots us out, the curtains were torn and the holy of holies as open to us.. we just need to repent. This hit me much later. I guess we were all taught wrong.

I think yes - so many humans teach that we need to do so much more... that its on us. instead of keeping the focus on Him and His goodness and what He has already done and continues to do... we take the reins

and then shamefully - we fill children's minds with this! and put this burden on them

but praise God that both you and I have had it hit us - even if its much later! hehehe at least it hits us! and then we get to grow OUR children up in the goodness and the freedom that comes in Him.

but you know - even the wrong teaching had its place. Because of it - I now see EVEN MORE beauty in the ACTUAL plan. hehehe
