Sublime Sunday With Little Critters

Happy Sublime Sunday!

The day is trying to be beautiful with the sun making an strong effect to break through the big fluffy clouds.

I’ve been watching this spider the last few days. He’s made two separate webs under the hanging flower pot but hasn’t caught any insects for his dinner.

The little orange colored spider is not having a good Sublime Sunday and looks a bit thin.

The spider is busy making the front web bigger. He has a web at the front of the pot and one at the back. He really needs a fly or something edible to get trapped in the web.

While photographing the spider I feel little eyes watching me.

The chipmunk leaves the rock he was resting on and comes up on the back deck. He is waiting for his morning pick-me-up ~ a couple peanuts.

Chippy is disappointed as I only have my phone in my hand and not the peanuts.

Here is the little path Chippy made as he travels from his home in the back of the barn to the deck.

Although Chippy is disappointed I don’t have a peanut with me, the blue jays and the dove are happily pecking at the seeds on the ground this Sublime Sunday.

I love clouds in the sky and although they often bring rain, I like them more than a boring blue sky 😉

Some spiders seem to make bad choices where they web their webs, but I have never heard of a spider that has died from hunger 😁

Chippy is always using the same path, that's cool 🙂 and he is collecting food for the winter although he must know that you are there feeding him 😉

Sun is breaking through this morning Hannes and looks like a nice start to the week.🌝

I keep watching the spider web but the he still has an empty web. September is always a great month here with few flies and no mosquitoes around.

Chippy is a creature of habit, always following the same path. I worry about him as there has been an eagle circling around. It must be part of a chipmunk’s nature to always store food away. He heads off with jaws puffed out, full of food he will store for later.🐿

It's rainy here and a cold wind is blowing - brrr it's cold ... when I said that the nice weather should stay on PEI I didn't mean all of it 🤣

Maybe you should catch a fly and feed the spider ;)
I always wondered how the squirrels could remember all the places where they store their food. I suppose chipmunks also have different hiding places for their food?

You read my mind. 😄There was a dead mosquito hawk ( also called Crane Flies) lying on the deck and I put it in the web for the spider. I saw the spider come down and check it out. 🕷️

I find the chipmunks stay close to the ground while the squirrels are mainly in the trees. They both have the instinct to store food for winter (or a rainy day) Like most animals they never forget where the food is.:)

The weather is staying beautiful during the day, although cooler at night. I hope you get some of this sunshine dear Hannes. ☀️🤗

The spider must have a full stomach now for this morning I see the mosquito hawk is gone from the web. 🕸

It was cool last night and a heavy dew this morning. The sun is breaking through and a beautiful day is forecasted. Hopefully you will have the same nice day dear Hannes.☀️🤗

Now you have got an additional mouth to feed Jo 😉

The day stayed dry and the sun has been shining most of the day. In the morning we have had 11C and now about 17C - so the day is quite nice here too 🌞

Chippy is looked splendid in his gorgeous coat with stripes, now how could you forget the treats Jo???

Spider will catch something, appears very generous with treading a large web so insects will come, and he knows it!

Birds enjoying a freebie on the ground will always return for more. Winter starting to approach the lawn looks lovely and green with it's middle parting. Happy Sunday!

i still haven’t seen anything in the spider’s web but something will eventually come that way.

The back lawn gets a good going over with the wildlife. 😆

Would be hard to ignore those little eyes and that dandy suit asking for handouts, so you caved in!

Spider might be in hiding during the day under a leaf, only come out to hunt in semi or total darkness. Hope you get acquainted soon with the owner of the web.

Chippy definitely leaves a permanent trail to and from his home to yours, permanent guest I'd say. Have a great week as well.

Love the beautiful sky and cute critters Jo!! OMG! That is a busy spider and what a web! I have an Orb Weaver that likes to spin its artwork at the front of the house. I walked into its huge piece of artwork just a few days ago..lol. Luckily, I caught only part of the web and missed the spider..thank goodness. They do make some beautiful artwork! 🕸️💕

Thanks so much Dee. I noticed the spiders seem to be making more webs outside this time of year.

This summer I didn’t see the Orb Weaver that is usually in the cedar tree with his web. I think they die every winter and a new one is hatched for the next year but something happened to mine. I like to see the Orb Weaver as they are so great at catching insects. They are quite the artists with the web designs.🕷💞

Poor little spider Jo, obviously in your early spring weather not a lot of insects are out and about. Obviously like all animals they go through famine times and have the ability to keep living. Happy day.🙏

Hi Angie It’s spring for you down under and fall for us in the Northern Hemisphere. The flies and insects are scarce with the cooler nights. I see a lot of spider webs outside as the spiders try to trap some food.
