Lovely nature pictures today.

A new wonderland awaits and will start soon.

Here is a variety of photos that will hopefully please your eyes.

We have a level 4 warning for storm damage as an incoming cold front will land at 5am tomorrow morning. Not only cold, but also accompanied by snow. Over the past weeks we have had a series of gale force storms, but this is the one that we have been waiting for.
The thousands of apple trees here will clap their hands, as they need the snow to rest.

Now this is what I call a great owl box. Carved with a chainsaw and this is real art.

Soon this lovely waterfall will be totally frozen and I cannot wait to take the photos.

My favorite tree next to the road on our way to the mountains.
093.jpg

I love the lines between the 3 mountains.

We saw the attractive Swans Neck of the Agave plant (Agave attenuata) next to the road. So now we have Mexican flowers in South Africa.
But that's okay as "Troy" our chihuaua is also a mexican dog 🤣

The clouds were slowly building towards a crescendo of gigantic proportions.

All streaming in from the Atlantic ocean and tomorrow they say that the snow will start.

So, I hope to bring you some snow pictures tomorrow if the weather plays the game. We welcome the snow as the colder it gets the better the trees will sleep and that will result in excellent fruit crops in summer.
Sadly once again there will be floods and the ground is already saturated by the rain of the storms over the past two weeks.
We only hope and pray that no lives will be lost.

And That's All Friends!

Ugh, we will have frost to the North. I'm scrambling around trying to find things to protect my garden

You are in Johannesburg not? Frost is a killer and when we lived up there I used hemp cloth to wrap the plants. Even down here my little avo trees are now covered with cloth. Tjey have rolls of the cloth at nurseries and some hardware stores.

Yes, I'm in Johannesburg.
I've cut grass for tonight and covered the small vegetables

Okay old leaves also do the trick. Basically anything to cover against the frost.
We saw that your temperatures are really plummeting there, so please stay warm and take care.

Thank you, I'm trying. Things are really hairy at the moment, there's all sorts of looting and shooting going on right on my doorstep

Oy Vay, so you are in one of the hot spot areas. We are hoping that things will calm down now since the army has been sent in to all of the hot spots.

Keep calm and we will pray for you.

Thank you.
Yes, I'm in a hot spot area and the problem is that there are lots of small and large fires to be put out constantly, so it stretches the police and army much too thin to be able to deal with everything effectively

We started The Papillon Foundation in Rosettenville 20 years ago and stayed there for 17 years before we moved down here 3 years ago.
So yes, we know all about the hot spots my friend.

Sooner or later it will calm down and just keep yourself out of the way.
Now don't be a naughty girl and run all over.
Only joking as I know that you can take care of yourself.
