A vein of gold across the mountains!

Surely something here that will turn any head in amazement!
A long golden narrow line ran along the length of the mountain range.

A first time for me to see this and I just had to find out how this happens. So after I took the pictures, we rushed homeward bound to have a look at the sunset,
Come and follow the story here!

I suspected that these lines of clouds had something to do with it, but we were at the east and the sun sets in the west!
430.JPG

Just the one narrow line along the mountain faces!
433.JPG

An extended view here and a pity that I do not have a wide angle lens!
437.JPG

Of course you guessed that the pillar and the valley is my favorites for photos!
439.JPG

Looks like a golden ribbon that was pasted on the mountains!
443.JPG

Here's a close up of the valley and I have this same valley covered in snow last winter!
456.JPG

Then it was time to go and to have a look at the sun!

Yep, I got the lines of clouds that streamed across the sun's face. That strip with the white cloud in it allowed the sun to shine through the gap, creating the line on the mountains!
507.JPG

Mystery solved and a 5 minute drive showed us the sun!
483.JPG

Of course I waited for some birds for @featheredfriends, but only this solitary Hadeda Ibis made his way home!
504.JPG

And here the sun slipped behind the mountain, but you can still see the lines in the sky!
509.JPG

Time we got home, the lines were changed into a lovely pink color!
531.JPG

Finally the wind decided to create a new uplifting flow of the cloud lines!
510.JPG

We are still not used to weather patterns here, as it will take a few years to get to know and understand it. But I am learning as we go and will eventually get to know it intimately.
The sight here cannot be described in human language and my camera does not do justice to the breathtaking sights,
In the silence and the might of the mountains, one can only stare stupefied at the grandeur of the scenes!

And That's All Friends!

Something here to think about!

I haven't seen such a phenomenon before and this golden band of light looks really amazing, Zac 😄

Yes, the sunset photos look great too, but I had to scroll back up to the other photos because they are so fascinating.
I wonder if you will see such views again or if this was a one time luck 😁

I don't know if I will ever see this again Hannes, but the sights are certainly lifetime memories.
A great thank you to our Lord that I was able to witness the miraculous appearance of that golden line across the mountains.

That's why I had to physically search and find the reason for that event.
But like I said, it was indescibable!

Cheers and thanks!

Thank you my friend and it was a first for me to experience.
We are searching for a house that has a fuller view of the mountains, but the houses are all in the millions. At our place I only have a small partial view and we have to drive out to get the pictures.
Glad that you enjoyed the photos!

Ohhh, that would be great! Hmmm, I don't think it would be an option(?), but me on 4th floor is great to get a good view... just saying... 😉

edit: If you can't go far, go up! lol

I wish that we can go up, but due to my accident I cannot climb many stairs.
They say that I need a new left knee.

The buildings in our town are limited to only two floors up.
Although there are high risers down at the coast!
