A sunrise mountain picture post.

A cold Saturday morning.
095.jpg

Oh yeah, as you can see we were at what felt like 4 or 5C early this morning, but I had my "genuine" Russian fur hat (made in China) on my head.

We expect another coldfront with rain and snow on Tuesday and so I am looking forward to many more photo opportunities. At other places up north in the country they had 1 meter of snow, but over here we only have the usual mountainpeaks covered by snow.
This is what I had on my camera.

Oh yes, the previous week's snow was still hanging around as the air was cold enough.
008.jpg

I had a limited view of the peaks from our garden.
009.jpg

The rising sun cast some magical colors on the mountains.
042.jpg

Here's another peak with both snow and early sun colors. That narrow valley below the sun cloud looks ideal for skiing, but they would have to create a huge foam covered stop for the skiers, as it is a far way down to mother earth from that peak.
001.jpg

Now tell me that you could see our moon above the mountain.
225.jpg

Not? Here is a closer look at our cold day moon.

Apart from the recent looting and destruction in our country, nature offers us some sanity and it also shows that life goes on. South Africans are known as resillient people and the dust had scarcely settled after the looting masses, when members of all nationalities joined hands to start cleaning up the destroyed areas. Compamies also joined and offered their services for free. So, just as secure as the mountains here are standing, we will also be anchored in our efforts to help each other.

And That's All Friends!

I LOVE the moon picture!! You can see its craters clear as day. Makes you feel like it's close enough to touch.

Thank you, Zach! ☺️❤️
Beer is a great solution in the heat!
And even better - kvas! 👌👍

Um...
What is "kvas"?
Well, it is such a drink tasty...
Fermentation!
Most often in Russia they make kvass out of rye bread.
Bread + sugar + raisins to start fermentation + water.
It’s all in the bank for a few days and fermented.
The taste is pleasant, sour! It quenches the thirst well

I love it when the mountains are almost fully coverd in clouds and you can only see the peaks. When then the rising sun paints the peaks and the clouds in pink or orange ... amazing views 😃

What moon? You also have a moon on your half of the earth? Aha, now I get it, your's is a day moon, now I know where our moon goes when the sun rises 😁

Oh yes and I also love the see the rock faces in between the snows tears on the peaks.
Those colors are terrific in your photos.

In the grades we learned that the moon runs away from the sun my friend. So when the sun is at your place, the moon hides at our place 🤣
The day that the sun catches the moon, we will all be in for it.

Cheers and thanks.

Well, I think it was last year or the year before when I have seen the sun rising and the moon quite close above at the same time in the east, but the sun was too slow and didn't catch the moon back then.

Wow a lovely picture and that is a lovely white bird up there in the sky 🤣

You must keep an eye on that spot and one day if you see the sun and the moon in the same spot together and you get a photo, you will become famous all over the world 😜

Cheers and thanks.

Maybe it will happen sooner than we think. I read today that China is building a huge rocket to destroy an orbiting massive meteor in order for it not to hit the earth.

Cheers and thanks.

Oh, if China builds the rocket the meteor will laugh and flee anyway because you and I, we know how Chinese things work 🤣

Oh my goodness, the meteor could fly right through the rocket 🤣
The day that a meteor is meant to hit the earth, nothing will stop it, as those things weigh 900 Tons.

Cheers and thanks.

I remember seing you in some other post wearing your Russian, made in China hat 😀
Here is so hot, that looking at your photos makes me feel better and cool. Temperature here is reaching 40°C and above. Yesterday I went shopping at 6 pm and the thermometer at the shop showed 36°C.

I love your moon photo. Here is mine from the Northern hemisphere and last night.

You have a lovely moon shot here Lady Neli.

Yes, I know those temperatures as we also get them in summer and up north in the country it goes to 50C+

Another month and a half will see Spring season here and then you guys should be in Autumn if I have my calculations correct?

I cannot imagine how someone can survive in 50°C+. I am panting now when we are put LOL

Yes, we will have our golden Autumn and it is pretty pleasant. As much as I like the summer, I begin to prefer the Autumn more.

All that I can say is yes, it get's very hot there. I had to go and do a wedding there once and after the service my suit was wet with sweat.

I also love Autumn and Spring seasons. Winter is also great. but as I get older Summer gets to me lately.
