COMMON PERIWINKLE
A wonderful ground cover, Periwinkle (Vinca minor).
Used to prevent soil erosion from zones 4-8.
Its blue violet flower that blooms in the Spring gives the plant its name. Periwinkle is a classified color.
There are some 30 varieties, I don't know which kind I have... Assume it's the common one... They come in many shades of blue & violet plus pinks, whites and even reds.
I have three separate areas where I let the Periwinkle spread. Spreads fasts with runners, very hardy and takes no maintenance...
You can find the color periwinkle in house-paint, clothing or about anything you want...
Never know where you will find periwinkle
There are only about 600 people on the planet considered to have violet/blue or purple eyes...
Actress Elizabeth Taylor was said to have them....
Even the night sky can give you a hint of Periwinkle....
