Want to See Some Wild Macaques?

And here they are again, the long-tailed macaques. In this post you can see two groups that I encountered on the one and same day. One group (second half of this post) is one that stays near the coast on Pulau Pinang and I have already published posts about them. Links to those are at the end of this post.
Und hier sind sie wieder, die Langschwanzmakaken. In diesem Post gibt es zwei Gruppen zu sehen, die ich an dem ein und selben Tag angetroffen habe. Eine Gruppe davon (die Zweite gezeigte) ist eine, welche sich in der Nähe zur Küste auf Pulau Pinang aufhält und ich bereits Beiträge über diese veröffentlicht habe. The roaming of a group I see more rarely. Most of the time, when I see macaques, they are in only one place, where they then stay for a longer time. But this time they were going somewhere and the group was moving across power cables that ran parallel to a road.
Das Umherstreifen einer Gruppe sehe ich seltener. Meistens, wenn ich Makaken zu sehen bekomme, befinden diese sich an nur an einem Ort, wo sie dann auch verweilen für eine längere Zeit. Doch diesmal ging es irgendwohin und die Gruppe bewegte sich über Stromkabel, die parallel zu einer Straße verliefen.
In the above picture you can see how the tail is used for balancing. Just barely visible is the offspring, which hangs under the belly of, I think, the mother.
Im oberen Bild zu sehen ist, wie der Schwanz zum Balancieren benutzt wird. Gerade noch so zu erkennen ist das Jungtier, das unter dem Bauch der, so denke ich mal, Mutter hängt.
Little by little, the animals moved across the cable. But never all at once. Between each pole only one or two of the animals moved, all the others waited at the respective ends.
Nach und nach bewegten sich die Tiere über das Kabel. Aber nie alle auf einmal. Zwischen jedem Pfahl bewegten sich nur ein oder zwei der Tiere, alle anderen haben an den jeweiligen Enden gewartet.
Again in the top two images, the tail helps the monkey balance without any problems.
Auch wieder in den oberen beiden Bildern, der Schwanz hilft dem Affen, ohne Probleme die Balance zu halten.
Unlike everyone else in the group, the last member to follow had made a quick stop and even looked over once.
Im Gegensatz zu allen anderen aus der Gruppe hatte das letzte folgende Mitglied einen kurzen Stopp eingelegt und sogar einmal rübergeschaut.

And here is the other group. Completely different location, so has nothing to do with the previous one shown.
Und hier ist die andere Gruppe. Ganz andere Örtlichkeit, hat also nichts mit der vorherigen gezeigten zu tun.
The macaques here behave as I had described before and as I almost always get to see them. They sat in the bushes and searched for food.
Die Makaken hier verhalten sich so, wie ich es vorher beschrieben hatte und wie ich sie fast immer zu sehen bekomme. Sie saßen in den Büschen und suchten nach Nahrung.
Then there was this one macaque who met me with special caution and preferred to watch me from cover.
Dann war da noch dieser eine Makake, der mir mit besonderer Vorsicht begegnete und mich lieber aus der Deckung heraus beobachtete.

These days I saw a video of many monkeys that were electrocuted on those cables! I imagine you must see scenes like that! good post thanks for sharing!
The power cables are connected with isolated rural houses and fortunately are all insulated. No danger for the monkeys here :)
