This time to see here, the "Green-backed Sunbird". With this one, I have already caught four different birds right outside my window with the camera and on top of that one squirrel. It is a pretty lively bird, always looking out in all directions, hopping along the branches and stretching his wings quite often.

The size is given on Wikipedia as 12 cm*. More from Wikipedia, including the identification*: The specimen shown here is a male. It can be recognized by the dark blue throat. A female would lack the coloration on the throat. Its food is insects or nectar. It can consume nectar in hovering flight, I could even observe this once myself.

It should be noted, I see this bird much less often than the ones shown so far on my blog. But I also look out of the window to watch birds only at random. Which is why the sighting of the bird seems to be maybe only relatively less.

What's interesting about the above picture is that the feathers have a certain transparency and it's possible to see what's behind them.

Lovely set of photography on this shy little bird, fortunate to have a window to capture enjoying itself in the sun.

Yeah i am pretty lucky to have all that trees in front of the house which attract a lot of different birds to make a stop here.
