(Google translate from Czech)

What do snow, clay or wet sand have in common?
Don't know?
After all, a new topic for the Thematic Challenge :-)

Greetings to all fans of Amazing Nature Community
linethema.png

As you probably know, in the new topic we will turn our attention back to the ground. You will become the next week
WILDLIFE TRACKER

Yes, this is a new topic for the Thematic Challenge.

While wandering in nature, you have certainly found footprints of wild animals many times. How many of you took a good look at these tracks and which of you took the pictures? Did you know whose trail you were looking at?

These questions direct you precisely to the tasks of this topic:

  • take pictures of wildlife tracks
  • find out which animal the footprint belongs to
  • to acquaint us with your finding in text form

Warning: footprints of cats and dogs are not the subject of this topic and will not be included in the competition!

As always, a little inspiration for you :-)

Will anyone be interested in such a hole in the snow?

IMG_20210116_162455.jpg

Ordinary tourist probably not. An educated tourist knows that he has just found a place where a doe (Capreolus capreolus) slept. There is also the imprint of the hoof she left here when she was digging up the snow.

IMG_20210117_153350.jpg

She left these traces on the bank of the stream, where she quenched her thirst.

Roe deer usually move in groups of three to four. A mother, her cub last year, a roe deer and one pregnant doe. However, in the place where they are looking for food, it looks like there is a large herd :-)

I wish you many wonderful experiences in fulfilling this challenge.
And be quiet. Stressed animals are more easily subject to the hardships of the winter months.

Reminder
Let me remind you that there is still an extraordinary Thematic Challenge - Over time.
Details can be found here and some details can be found here

The entire DNA community will vote for the winners. That's why we created a special competition channel #challenge-entries in DNA Discord (Amazing Nature Contest). Here I will publish a post with the announcement including the winners (Announcement) EVERY MONDAY together with all your contributions (Contributions) EVERY SUNDAY. Each DNA member will be able to assign a "voting emoji" under the items for 24 HOURS. In the end, the lucky winners are three of them. In case of a draw, I will join as a judge.

That's why it's a Challenge :-). You will definitely find traces of birds somewhere and write a story about them :-)

It snowed here and the only tracks I saw were from dogs and cats around my home. Around my office no tracks of birds either. Still, if I'll find something, I would gladly submit my entry.

Footprints can be found elsewhere than in the snow :-)
It is true that no imprints remain on the icy water.

when I travelled to Ladoga skerries islands (it often happen around mid-June), I remember I found a lot of animal's traces - their defecations (I think they were hares and black grouse) - but I didn't take photos, and have nothing to show!

:P

я не могу исключить простую вероятность, что ваш пост послужил причиной темы этой недели, так сказать, осуществил наводку, фокусирование и кристаллизацию :)) не будь вашего поста - кто знает... тема могла бы быть совсем другой!

Not necessarily! I cannot exclude out a simple possibility that your post was the reason for this week's topic, so to speak - carried out focusing and crystallization :)) if it were not for your post - who knows ... the topic could have been completely different!

I am going to present my wildlife tracker hunting in an hour or so - from the forest nearby. I am watching time 🙂.
If a park, can that be feeding stations?

Thank you for your link.
The lace from the bird tracks around the "black dry" is great.
Welcome to the competition :-)
