Amazing Nature Contest: Thematic Challenge -#4/1/21 - CLOSED

(Google translate from Czech)

What do snow, clay or wet sand have in common?
Don't know?
After all, a new topic for the Thematic Challenge :-)

Greetings to all fans of Amazing Nature Community

As you probably know, in the new topic we will turn our attention back to the ground. You will become the next week

Yes, this is a new topic for the Thematic Challenge.

While wandering in nature, you have certainly found footprints of wild animals many times. How many of you took a good look at these tracks and which of you took the pictures? Did you know whose trail you were looking at?

These questions direct you precisely to the tasks of this topic:

  • take pictures of wildlife tracks
  • find out which animal the footprint belongs to
  • to acquaint us with your finding in text form

Warning: footprints of cats and dogs are not the subject of this topic and will not be included in the competition!

As always, a little inspiration for you :-)

Will anyone be interested in such a hole in the snow?

Ordinary tourist probably not. An educated tourist knows that he has just found a place where a doe (Capreolus capreolus) slept. There is also the imprint of the hoof she left here when she was digging up the snow.

She left these traces on the bank of the stream, where she quenched her thirst.

Roe deer usually move in groups of three to four. A mother, her cub last year, a roe deer and one pregnant doe. However, in the place where they are looking for food, it looks like there is a large herd :-)

I wish you many wonderful experiences in fulfilling this challenge.
And be quiet. Stressed animals are more easily subject to the hardships of the winter months.

Let me remind you that there is still an extraordinary Thematic Challenge - Over time.
Details can be found here and some details can be found here

Oh, that is challenging. ☺

That's why it's a Challenge :-). You will definitely find traces of birds somewhere and write a story about them :-)

It snowed here and the only tracks I saw were from dogs and cats around my home. Around my office no tracks of birds either. Still, if I'll find something, I would gladly submit my entry.

I look forward to :-)

indeed! this week all of our snow has melted, (you may check the photo I've posted yesterday!) there are lakes of icy water all around... and theres no traces on the water, ehehe. But I love challenges! Cheers - !WINE

Footprints can be found elsewhere than in the snow :-)
It is true that no imprints remain on the icy water.

when I travelled to Ladoga skerries islands (it often happen around mid-June), I remember I found a lot of animal's traces - their defecations (I think they were hares and black grouse) - but I didn't take photos, and have nothing to show!

Challenges come when you least expect them :-)

So, I was too hasty with my post "Animal FOOTPRINTS in the Snow" 😟, just had to wait for a couple of weeks! O-ho-ho 😥 😁

я не могу исключить простую вероятность, что ваш пост послужил причиной темы этой недели, так сказать, осуществил наводку, фокусирование и кристаллизацию :)) не будь вашего поста - кто знает... тема могла бы быть совсем другой!

Not necessarily! I cannot exclude out a simple possibility that your post was the reason for this week's topic, so to speak - carried out focusing and crystallization :)) if it were not for your post - who knows ... the topic could have been completely different!

If so, then I'm glad. But I must hurry to find something new or - next time!

or next time. theres nothing bad with missing out this and that, не последнюю корову, так сказать, пропиваем

I considered two topics. Footprints and .... :-)
Guess what the topic will be next :-D

Wow, sounds like a puzzle 😁! I need time to get an idea 😁👍

The decipherment will come on Monday :-). I can only say that you will look at your park again :-)

I am going to present my wildlife tracker hunting in an hour or so - from the forest nearby. I am watching time 🙂.
If a park, can that be feeding stations?

I'll wait for your entry :-)
Be surprised :-)

You will definitely find new footprints in your park :-)

This is my entry for the Wildlife Tracker Challenge :) If you like to choose another pic for the discord feel free to do so.

Thank you for your link.
You can always experience some adventure in the forest :-)
Welcome to the competition :-)

I did not believe I would manage to find something, but I did.
Here it is my entry with birds tracks.

Thank you for your link.
Every imprint is good. Evidence of the presence of animals or birds :-)
Welcome to the competition :-)

excluding cats and dogs... it became not an easy job!
but I managed to dig in my archives something suitable.
here is my entry: birds at the watering station.
(mostly seagulls, ducks and pigeons).

Thank you for your link.
The lace from the bird tracks around the "black dry" is great.
Welcome to the competition :-)

'lace', yeah. a good comparison. my pleasure!

Dear friends, here is my entry. Nearly late because I have no time for walks in the forest on weekdays, Saturday was the only chance 😁

Thank you for your link.
Hares are good jumpers :-)
Welcome to the competition :-)
