Monster butterfly larvae

On a scale of five of being scared, I scaled myself 4 after seeing this monster larvae.
Though this one is not my first time but how I got in contact with it was horror as it falled on me with the leaf.
At first, I thought that it was a small snake and I shouted and ran.
After returning from about 10 meters to the descended item, I took some pictures of it for my hive post.
Below were the shots that I took.

This larvae matures to a very big ugly butterfly that flies mostly in the night. It's attracted to light bulbs and headlamps when turned on in the night.
Have you seen this type of insect with such colours combination?
If yes, in what location/country?
