African Honeybee Foraging Aloes

Hey everyone, how awesome is nature? I have not taken too many pics of these incredible creatures for some time so decided to do just that today.

We are currently enjoying an amazing Aloe season, bees love aloes, one of their best foraging sources in winter I believe.

My new phone has an interesting macro function which I was testing out here. Quiet lucky to capture our African Honey bee as well as a pint sized mini me.. not sure what that bee is, or anything about it for that matter other than these two do appear often together.

I have watched loads of these bees in various flowers, what I have noticed is with these aloes the bees force themselves inside the flower to access the sweet "honeypot" at the end.. on some flowers like a cape honey suckle they literally drill in the side of the flower to acces nectar.. amazing.
