Caterpillar - Monarch
Expectant and respectful of nature, in this opportunity I share content and image of a larva that becomes an elegant insect, however, I will write about a particular cycle to continue the fascinating process of metamorphosis. I share images taken at Plaza 66 between Jujuy and Belgrano avenues in Argentina. The purpose of the plaza was to rescue through flowers and plants the reproduction of several insects among them the monarch butterfly to create a more friendly landscape in the city.

Expectantes y respetuosos de la naturaleza, en esta oportunidad comparto contenido e imagen de una larva que se convierte en un insecto elegante, sin embargo, escribiré sobre un ciclo particular para continuar al fascinante proceso de la metamorfosis. Comparto imágenes tomadas en la plaza 66 entre las avenidas Jujuy y Belgrano de Argentina. La plaza tuvo como propósito rescatar a través de flores y plantas la reproducción de varios insectos entre ellos la mariposa monarca para crear un paisaje más amigable en la ciudad.
The larvae have an accordion-like appearance with a cylindrical shape; at hatching they are white, days pass and thick, thin black rings appear in the yellow length of the body. It has a soft, flexible consistency and legs that help it to attach, it has sensitive antennae to find food and a strong jaw to devour the plant. The clothing of its design sends danger signals to predators announcing that it is unpalatable and poisonous.
La larva posee una apariencia de acordeón con forma cilíndrica; al nacer son blancas, pasan los días y aparecen anillos negros gruesos y delgados sobre la longitud amarilla del cuerpo. Consistencia blanda, flexible y patas que le ayuda a fijarse, tiene antenas sensitivas para encontrar el alimento y una mandíbula fuerte para devorar la planta. La indumentaria de su diseño envía señal de peligro a depredadores anunciando que no es agradable y venenosa.
They are diurnal and solitary caterpillars, I found several scattered by milkweed plants (asclepia), some immobile, others active and some eating. The asclepia plant is a specific diet because the substance is retained until it becomes a butterfly and hence poisonous, the caterpillar eats until it is robust, after several changes of clothing size it passes to the next stage, called chrysalis.
Son orugas diurnas y solitarias, encontré varias dispersas por las plantas de algodoncillo (asclepia), algunas inmóviles, otras activas y unas comiendo. La planta asclepia es una dieta específica porque la sustancia es retenida hasta ser mariposa y de ahí lo venenosa, la oruga come hasta estar robusta, luego de varios cambios de talla de ropa pasa a la siguiente etapa, llamada crisálida.

Es un entretenimiento de cazar insectos y su función en la naturaleza. Los colores son hermosos y peligroso para otros.
