Nature Motivation Show - #7 - Forest Animals / Waldtiere

Hello lovely Hiveans and Nature Lovers !

Now that you are all locked up in your accommodations for the next few weeks it is so hard to stay in touch with the beauties of nature out there. So I decided to launch this Nature Motivation Show for you ^^ It will contain 10 episodes and will be published over two weeks. Each day I will present to you one of those episodes, with collected footage from the Botanical Gardens Bochum and the Hohenstein National Park in Witten, so that you can stay sane and still feel like a creation of our Mother Earth, and not like another piece of furniture of your accommodation ;) .. I will cover trees,bushes, carnivorous plants and beautiful flowers, wild forest animals and petting zoo animals, fungi and much more for you 😜 .. Today's episode is about Forest Animals.

German: Jetzt, da wir alle für die nächsten Wochen eingesperrt sind, ist es schwer, in Kontakt mit den Schönheiten der Natur da draußen zu bleiben. Also habe ich beschlossen diese Nature Motivation Show für euch zu starten ^^ Es wird über 2 Wochen insgesamt 10 Episoden geben. Jeden Tag werde ich eine vorstellen, mit Aufnahmen aus dem Botanischen Garten Bochum und dem Nationalpark Hohenstein in Witten, damit ihr euch weiterhin wie eine Schöpfung unserer Mutter Erde fühlen könnt, und nicht wie ein weiteres Möbelstück eurer Wohnung ;) .. Ich werde Bäume, Sträucher, fleischfressende Pflanzen und schöne Blumen, Waldtiere und Streichelzootiere, Pilze und vieles mehr für euch abdecken .. In der heutigen Folge geht es um Waldtiere

Wild Boar Family

Here I got a nice picture for you of a little wild boar family while they are eating a tasty potato meal. The wild boar is really adaptable and they are known to eat absolutely everything. Wild boar have really strong teeth and the tusk of a male boar can become 20 cm long. Unfortunately I do not have a good picture of the tusks here. Contrary to the over-bred domestic pig they only reach a weight of around 150 Kg, but are much more stronger and therefore dangerous. They can even open coconuts if necessary ;) .. The most time of the day wild boar are resting. If they are awake they like to wallow in the mud for protection of insects and clean themselves at tree bark. After the birth of her 1 Kg heavy piglets the sow leaves her pack for a few months until they are strong enough to keep up with the others. A pack is usually about 10 to 15 animals strong, depending on the availability of food. The male boar usually are lone-wolfs and leave the pack after one year. But they come for a visit from time go time ;)

German: Das Wildschwein ist sehr anpassungsfähig und es ist bekannt, dass es absolut alles frisst. Wildschweine haben sehr starke Zähne und der Stoßzahn eines männlichen Ebers kann 20 cm lang werden. Leider habe ich hier kein gutes Bild von den Stoßzähnen. Im Gegensatz zum überzüchteten Hausschwein erreichen sie nur ein Gewicht von ca. 150 kg, sind aber viel stärker und daher gefährlicher. Sie können bei Bedarf sogar Kokosnüsse knacken ;) .. Die meiste Zeit des Tages ruhen Wildschweine. Wenn sie wach sind, suhlen sie sich zum Schutz vor Insekten gern im Schlamm und putzen sich am Bäumen. Nach der Geburt ihrer 1 kg schweren Ferkel verlässt die Sau für einige Monate ihren Rudel, bis sie stark genug sind, um mit den anderen mithalten zu können. Ein Rudel besteht in der Regel aus 10 bis 15 Tieren, je nach Verfügbarkeit von Nahrung. Die männlichen Eber sind in der Regel Einzelgänger und verlassen das Rudel nach einem Jahr. Aber sie kommen ab und zu zum Besuch vorbei ;)

European Roe Deer

There are many different species of deer out there. One group of deer are the Cervinae, including the muntjac, the elk and the chital. The other group are the Capreolinae, including the reindeer, the roe deer, and the moose. The ones that I show you here are European roe deer. The roe deer is relatively small, reddish and grey-brown, and well-adapted to cold environments. The species is widespread in Europe, from the Mediterranean to Scandinavia. They have a usual body length up to 135 cm , a shoulder height up to 75 cm and a weight up to 35 kg. Roe deer feed mostly on grass, leaves and berries. The male roe deer is referred to as the roebuck and has a beautiful antler up to 20–25 cm. They are also rubbing their antlers on trees, so that their antlers are hard and stiff for the duels during the mating season. And if they are shed, their antlers begin to regrowing almost immediately.

German: Es gibt viele verschiedene Arten von Hirschen. Eine Gruppe von Hirschen sind die Cervinae, einschließlich der Muntjak, der Elch und der Chital. Die andere Gruppe sind die Capreolinae, einschließlich der Redes, der Rehe und der Elche. Die, die ich euch hier zeige, sind europäische Rehe.
