Who did this?
The snow was gone, but these earthen piles suddenly appeared.
Who made them?
I think the mole did it.. But very big piles. Huge.
I leveled these piles with my feet, thought I would find a hole in the depth, but found nothing.
A day later, new piles of earth were formed. They appear at night. And only on uncultivated land, on sod.
In the summer, we don't have such large mounds of earth. The size of some reach up to 30 centimeters in height. They only appear in late autumn.
Probably, the mole digs its winter passages deeper in the ground than in the summer, and therefore a lot of earth is formed at the exit.
Last night there was an incident in our village - a house burned down. I don't know what caused the fire. No one was killed, the owner of the house is alive. But very sorry for the man. It was a new home. The man built it for 5 years. He also had 7 bee hives.
It's about 250 meters from my house.

It could be a mole, but it could also be a badger or something similar. They like to dig up underground insect hives. If ever you discover bees or wasps disappearing into the ground (or step on one with bare feet and get stung - as I've done a few times), and there is a mound of dirt there the next day, something dug up the hive to eat the insects.
Badgers don't grow in these parts. And the wasp usually makes hives under roofs. The mole definitely did it. I caught moles in the summer.
A shame about the neighbors house, glad all of them are okay though. Those are some pretty big mole piles. Maybe they are growing bigger, or mutating, we all thought it would be zombies, maybe it is really going to be Mole Men that rise up from the ground.
