Coin Gecko Candies
Hi fellow Hiveians and HODLers,
Wanted to share some cool stuff that I just learned about from my favorite coin prices website, Coin Gecko that also has an account and used to run a witness back on Steem @coingecko! One thing I liked about them versus CMC is that they are here in the community with us, posting with us and interacting. I much prefer to support those that are here than those who are not. You can visit their website at coingecko.com or use my Presearch method highlighted below!
Mmm Candy
So I was doing my daily habit of using my Presearch activities to get me some tokens and to get Presearch as a company some money instead of the devil Google, and I was checking out how much the market was getting dumped on. Looking around the website, feeling annoyed that the price of hive can’t get back up to 0.30¢ so I can buy my Splinterlands packs. I was checking out some other things when I noticed the banner that said Coin Gecko Candies and I was like hmm ok what’s that? Let me have a look!
You need to create an account with your email address and I’d already done that so I logged in and went to check it out. It’s pretty cool!
Logging in every day, which I visit their site daily, multiple times per day, is pretty easy for me. Just hitting the candies section and claiming my reward for the day so I can HODL more rewards is great for me! The consistent rewards certainly add up, in a couple weeks I’ll be able to grab all the things for rewards that I would like. Check out the rewards below.
Redeemables
Ok so having rewards is great to help people out that use your service. But are the rewards worth it? I think they are, for me at least! There’s a learning thing which is ok but then there’s the Cobo discount. I’m sure people would like to use that so that ones cool. Their shirts also look pretty nice so I will plan on grabbing one of those for sure at some point.
What I’m more interested in at the moment is the NFT’s they are offering. NFT’s are non-fungible tokens I just learned. I’m not sure what that is right now but it looks like a gaming thing like Splinterlands so I’ll grab the limited edition ones for sure. Saving up for the most expensive one right now.
So like anything we do here in crypto, it just takes a little bit to find some of the cool hidden gems in the places like Coin Gecko. I would recommend everyone use their website, they have been a cool bunch of guys to interact with since I learned about them back on Steem. They did shut their witness down for hive at the transition but hopefully they will eventually get it going again. Increase your holdings with me and get some Candies!

Cool candies, I have claimed 40 already, hopefully they get to tokenize it in the future. And yes you are right rather support Coingecko than CMC.
That’s good, keep stacking the candies! If we have assets in the platforms we use often it becomes easier to keep track of them.

It just requires a bit of modification of your daily habits like going to Presearch to search for PeakD instead of just typing it in the browser. I’ve accumulated 1400 tokens purely by searching but the more you refer people the faster it grows.
Their keyword staking is also really awesome for things like PeakD and hive. It directs an advertisement based on your words.

Same here! I was like whoa what’s this? I’m on their website every day. The candies are really new though, I think it just started last week.

Yeah I am going to redeem my points for those cards as well. I'm saving up first for the 1k cost one then working downwards. That seems like it could be a solid investment for sure! It may have the popularity of Splinterlands, who knows!

You’re welcome! I just recently learned of the candies function myself but looking at the coin gecko account, it’s new to them as well so that was nice, i was on top of a new feature instead of finding out about it weeks later lol
I like the coin gecko site much better than CMC. I don’t know if it’s personal bias or what but it just looks nicer to me.

It does look nicer if you are into getting more information while scrolling through the site. I do wish they would make improve in the contrast in the UI.
Yeah the UI could use a bit of an improvement in different color options. The white and green is challenging sometimes.
