Man, I still use that exodus wallet you recommended me about two years ago. Never owned any hardware wallet by now. I don't know if it's the best decision, but I'm fine with it.

Exodus is a software wallet, it is safe if you maintain your computer free of malware and viruses. The safest is always a "paper wallet" but this is another story.
A hardware wallet as Ledger or Trezor are good options since the hacker did not have the chance to get the private keys stored in. The problem is when they ask you sensible and personal information as a condition to use them. The data you provide is then stored in a DB in the organization that can be hacked easier and that is what happened with ledger.
