Game Changer: We Got A Tractor!!

We have some pretty big hopes and dreams for our homestead. We want to provide more than just food for our family. We want our homestead to be the major part of our livelihood. My dream is to be able to make my homestead my full-time job.

We have been researching possible income streams that we could open up, including raising meat chickens, cutting hay, and starting a market garden. We have the land for it, but we just haven't had the equipment. I've started trying to expand our gardening space, but it is slow going when your are trying to make raised beds. So, to expedite the process, we have decided to make an investment.

While we have been working toward our ultimate goal of turning our home into an income producing homestead for the past couple of years, it has always seemed like a far-fetched pie-in-the-sky dream for me. It has almost felt like I've been playing 'farmer'. But, making a purchase this big has made it real to me. If I'm going to justify to myself spending the money, I'm going to have to dig in and make this thing happen! On the one hand, I'm a bit nervous; but more than anything, I am excited!
