The only other way I moved BLURT was via Ionomy. swap.app does not seem to operate there. I can see some people milking Blurt whilst they can, but I wonder if it has any future.

Yeah I've been going the ionomy route with all my Blurt powerdowns. I just can't be active on all these sites so just focusing on what I can and not really sure what vision there is for Blurt, who's developing it etc?

I monitored my post engagement (comments and rewards mostly) as I posted on both steem and hive for the first month (I wasn't really sure what to do) but the picture became obvious as I had 0 comments on Steem and everything was on Hive so a no brainer. Then blurt magically popped up, apparently Zapata is on the way as well! Forkin' 'ell!

Zapata? Not heard of that. Blurt is trying to satisfy those who don't like downvotes, but I'm not sure they are that big a deal. I just had my first in a while from a minor abuser who holds a grudge. Hive works pretty well, but we may see more tweaks.

Yeah apparently Zapata might be an equivalent Instagram tied with Blurt but the waters are getting a little muddy on that. Think it's part of the same team but not sure. Whaleshares was a good indication of what happens with no downvotes so I'm surprised they went that route. If you post your own content and don't plagiarise etc then you're pretty set here!

I'm sure there will be more tweaks, I'm expecting either at HF25 or 26 at the latest, the HIVE rewards pool as we know it will go and it will be up to 2nd layer tokens, a bit like LEO is doing now, to grow and expand their own tokens. HIVE will probably just be used for governance, witness voting and staking rewards with the blockchain itself marketed as a place for developers to build on (gaming), then those dapps to provide their own 2nd layer.

What do you think? Am I well off the mark here? 😄

I really don't know. A lot of people are confused by all these other tokens and as they are not actual SMTs they are not as secure as they should be (I think). I think it is best to keep things simple. Games may want to use their own tokens, but if you are just blogging you shouldn't have to care. The whole economics thing is beyond me.

Yeah ditto on the confusion! SMTs, I suspect, will be looked at more in HF 25 and probably rolled out then as I think there was a LOT of continual testing but never materialised for a variety of reasons and then Hive Hard Forked.

SMTs would be connected to the Hive blockchain and so would be more secure in the sense in you wouldn't have to rely on 3rd party or custom jsons like on Hive-Engine. However, the speed of development may not be as fast. I seem to remember exyle doing a great tutorial of it back in the day.

To be honest, as a blogger and music producer primarily, it's hard enough to get my head around the DAW, let along blockchain tech and economics 😂
