A Letter to Me in 2019

A letter to me in 2019 is created by @livinguktaiwan and I was tagged by @redheadpei. The idea is to write a letter to yourself in 2019 and tell what year 2020 will be.

So here we go

Dear Me in 2019,

You had fabulous 2019. You are probably reading this letter after you are back from Thailand where you spent two fantastic weeks with your son and his girlfriend. You found out that your son's decision to move and stay there is great and that he is happy and makes you happy too. You think that the distance between the countries and continents will not be a problem, but guess what? There is another problem that nobody has expected.

Prepare yourself for some changes that will turn the world upside down. I don't want to scare you, but the thing is that we all faced an invisible enemy that once was only seen in the movies. A new virus turned out to be a reason for big changes in our lives. This invisible enemy called Covid-19 or Corona virus forced countries all over the world to take measures to prevent its spreading.

You will work at home for couple of months, restaurants and cafes and malls will be shut and buying your groceries and medicine will be a new experience. First you have to queue and the distance between the people must be 2 m, they call it now social distance and you have to keep it everywhere you go. You can't enter the shop without a mask. Small shops serve one customer at the time. Your favourite aimless browsing in the shop, I am afraid is over. No more handshaking and hugs.

The virus is like a flue, but worse and many people lost the battle, that's what makes it scary. And media will be flooding us with statistics of how many infected, how many cured, how many died.

When in summer the measures in your country loosened, the number of infected people increased. You will have mask in each bag and you will disinfect your hands each time you enter the supermarket or when you are back in the office. Some of your mates there will be infected but you will be not. Yet. But don't worry. Being reasonable when you are out will help to stay healthy.

But not all is gloom and doom. You may not see your friends and relatives, your son and his girlfriend will not come to visit you, because the flights will be cancelled.
But you will keep on having contact with them, knowing they all are all right.

You will have another fur member of the family in 2020. Your hubby will rescue a kitten and despite your concern how the other cat will accept it, at the end they will become best friends and will make you laugh every day when you watch them playing.

You will discover new passion - birdwatching and photographing birds in your local park and you will be pleased to know that you will learn a lot more about the new species you and your hubby will find.

You wouldn't believe what I am going to say now, but you will overcome your fear from dentists and you will realize that it will be even pleasant when you visit your new dentist.

It is going to be challenging year and you will wonder how quickly it will pass and you will wish next year to be better.

Yours truely
You in 2020

I wonder what future me is going to write in the letter to me in 2020.

I will tag @zirochka, @bluemoon and @silversaver888 to invite them to participate and to write a letter to themselves. Of course anybody can join and write a letter and don't forget to use the #mein2019 tag.

What a great letter Neli. You expressed eloquently what we all feel.

I’m happy you had a nice visit with your son before the pandemic and added a new kitten to your household this year.

Thanks for entering the challenge.

It's a crappy year but the least we can do is to keep upbeat about everything 👍👍

Hmm, If I was you in 2019, I probably would have been a little scared and sad at the same time. Not being able to hug and shakehands? Not being able to go out and visit my favorites places, my friends and loved ones.
I would be a little scared and sad but what can we do? 202 already had a lot in store for us.
Wait this is the second post I read so far about dentist and tooth lol. It seems we have that common issue around the globe lol. I am glad you have now overcome your fears of dentists and thought it good to even visit the new dentist

Thank you very much for reading my post?
Yes, this year was like no other and I am glad it is over. But would next be better?
I am optimistic by nature and hope for the best.

Oh, dentists, how to like them! LOL. I have bad experience as a child, but now I found a very good dentist, who really knows how to make the patients feel comfortable. And gladly I will be doing my regular checks without delay.

We wonder what 2021 will have in store for us but we really hope and pray for the best while expecting anything.
Oh that's nice to finally have a good dentist that makes you comfortable
