Tenía mucho tiempo que no veía tv y cuando leí está pregunta: ¿Qué libro o película has leído/visto recientemente que recomendarías y por qué? entre las propuestas del concurso, puse una gran sonrisa en mi rostro porque justo había tenido la grandiosa oportunidad de disfrutar dos películas el fin de semana, una que pude ver en la tranquilidad del silencio después que todos en casa se durmieron y otra con los niños una noche de “pijamada”.

ENOLA HOLMES

Empecemos con Enola Holmes, es una película realmente fresca que cuenta la historia de la hermana de Sherlock Holmes, el famoso detective de la literatura. Enola fue criada por su mamá en su hogar bajo una enseñanza cuidadosamente dirigida por su madre con creencias feministas que iban más allá de esperar que la mujer tuviera algunos méritos propios dentro del hogar y los estudios (Escuela para damas), sino incluso que ocupará un rol especial en la política y otras áreas en aquella sociedad de la época victoriana en Inglaterra.

Todo el panorama de Enola cambia cuando su madre desaparece un buen día de casa y ella emprende su primera y gran aventura por encontrarla, escapando de sus hermanos (Sherlock y Mycroft), e involucrándose en un montón de situaciones peligrosas que te mantienen en suspenso hasta el final de la película.

Lo que más me gustó fue ver como una madre empoderada cría a su niña en casa y le inculca una serie de valores y conocimientos que le permiten desenvolverse sola muy hábilmente, con tan solo 16 años. Ciertamente muestra unos talentos más allá de lo creíble, pero eso también me mostró la fuerza interior que podemos tener las mujeres para deslumbrar en cualquier área que nos propongamos y lo valioso que es seguir nuestros instintos y nuestros sueños aun cuando tengamos todo en contra.

MÁS ALLÁ DE LA LUNA

En esta misma línea de mostrar la fuerza interior y la conexión especial de una niña con su madre, nos trae Netflix está propuesta para disfrutar todos en casa. Una comiquita cargada de emociones y mucho colorido.

Por una parte, me pareció muy hermosa la forma en que presentan el duelo que se puede experimentar en una familia cuando uno de los integrantes trasciende de plano antes de lo esperado y todo lo que ello representa tanto a nivel de pareja, como para los niños y como muestran la posibilidad de salir adelante.

La niña llamada Fei Fei se empeña en construir un cohete para viajar a la luna y probar la existencia de una Diosa que contaban entre las leyendas de su pueblo y que representaba un nexo especial con su madre, cuando lo logra emprende un viaje hacia un mundo fantástico donde más allá de los desafíos que debe superar, se encuentra ante el escenario de lo significativo que es valorar estar rodeado de personas amadas y lo importante que es apreciar y comprender que esos nuevos vínculos que surgen en el entorno no te alejan de mantener en el corazón a esa persona especial que siempre será parte de ti.

La verdad creo que es un tema bastante profundo para los niños, aunque está bien disfrazado en ese mundo de fantasía y criaturas mágicas, que los distraen entre tanto colorido y una trama entretenida.

Esta fue mi experiencia con las dos películas, lo mejor de todo es haberme tomado el espacio para disfrutarlas y compartir con esta bella Comunidad mi experiencia. También creo que tengo en común con ambas protagonistas ese aspecto testarudo, optimista y perseverante de ir siempre tras lo que queremos.

Two films about the power of love and inner strength

I hadn't watched TV for a long time and when I read this question: What book or movie have you read/seen recently you would recommend and why? among the contest entries, I put a big smile on my face because I had just had the great opportunity to enjoy two movies over the weekend, one that I could watch in the quiet of silence after everyone in the house fell asleep and the other with the kids one "sleepover" night.

ENOLA HOLMES

Let's start with Enola Holmes, it's a really fresh film that tells the story of Sherlock Holmes' sister, the famous literary detective. Enola was raised by her mother at home under a carefully directed teaching by her mother with feminist beliefs that went beyond expecting women to have some merits of their own within the home and studies (School for Ladies), but even that they would occupy a special role in politics and other areas in that Victorian era society in England.

Enola's whole outlook changes when her mother disappears from home and she embarks on her first big adventure to find her, escaping from her brothers (Sherlock and Mycroft), and getting involved in a lot of dangerous situations that keep you in suspense until the end of the film.

What I liked best was to see how an empowered mother raises her child at home and instills in her a series of values and knowledge that allow her to develop herself very skillfully, at only 16 years old. It certainly shows some talents beyond belief, but it also showed me the inner strength we women can have to dazzle in any area we set our minds to and how valuable it is to follow our instincts and our dreams even when we have everything against us.

BEYOND THE MOON

In this same line of showing the inner strength and special love connection of a girl with her mother, brings us Netflix is proposed to enjoy all at home. A film loaded with emotions and a lot of color.

I found very beautiful the way they present the grief that can be experienced in a family when one of the members transcends the plane earlier than expected and all that this represents both at the level of the couple, as for children and as they show the possibility of getting ahead.

The girl named Fei Fei is determined to build a rocket to travel to the moon and prove the existence of a Goddess that was among the legends of her people and that represented a special bond with her mother. When she succeeds, she embarks on a journey into a fantastic world where beyond the challenges she must overcome, she finds herself before the stage of how significant it is to value being surrounded by loved ones and how important it is to appreciate and understand that those new bonds that arise do not distance you from keeping in your heart that special person that will always be part of you.

The truth is that I think it is a pretty deep theme for children, although it is well disguised in that world of fantasy and magical creatures, which distract them between so much color and an entertaining plot.

This was my experience with the two films, the best thing of all is to have taken the space to enjoy them and share my experience with this beautiful Community. I also believe that I have in common with both protagonists that stubborn, optimistic and persevering aspect of always going after what we want.
