1️⃣ What’s one Reality you experienced that did not match your Expectation (Expectation vs Reality)?

My first memory when I read this question was the birth of my second daughter Miranda. She would come into the world as the first, by scheduled cesarean section due to my tight pelvis. The first cesarean section was a success, everything happened quickly and safely. I was conscious and listened and saw my daughter at birth, I kissed her and I can say that it is a priceless memory that I keep in my heart. So for my second C-section I IMAGINED that everything would be the same, but the reality was different. I went into the operating room and when the anesthesia was placed, it seems that I was very tense and they had to inject me about 3 times in the back to be able to place the injection correctly. However, I did not feel any numbness or heaviness in my legs like the first time. From the first moment I told the Anesthesiologist Doctor: "I don't feel my body asleep, I feel it completely and I can move without difficulty", I said this to the wind because nobody heard me, I kept moving my legs and when my Doctor entered I told him : "Doc please, I feel my body, I do not feel the anesthesia", but they were also words to the wind. From my last words I only remember the sensation and the most horrible pain in the world, a stab. The doctor used his scalpel to cut my skin IN COLD BLOOD. I remember it and my skin crawls. I felt how my skin opened, how it cut me, and in seconds I felt nothing more. I woke up in a room alone, without knowing and without understanding what had happened and where my daughter was. They were the most horrible minutes I have lived, after several screams a nurse came and calmed me down saying that my daughter was fine and not to speak. That they were going to take me with her and my family, all I did was cry. I got to the room without stopping crying and through a message on my cell phone I told my husband and my mother what I had experienced. They didn't understand anything so my husband got "a little" angry and made a fuss, that's how we knew what happened: anesthesia entered my body only 30%, which kept me awake and basically I FEEL EVERYTHING. Can you imagine a cesarean section without anesthesia? I went crazy in the operating room, so much so that I was completely asleep after two gentlemen orderlies managed to put me back to bed. The nurse who checked me found bruises on my arms and a horrible burn on my left leg because while I was struggling on the operating table, my leg touched a device that I think is called a Cauterizer. This wound took about 3 months to heal, but what still does not heal is the trauma that was left in me with this horrible and movie-like experience. I don't have any pretty memories of the birth of my second baby, only until I held her in my arms in my room an hour after I got out of it. For me, this experience was a complete nightmare, a reality totally removed from the expectation I had for the birth of my little love.
