Muy buenas entradas la semana pasada.

Esta semana 2 preguntas interesantes. Yo escogí participar con la segunda:

2️⃣ ¿Qué afición o pasatiempo siempre has querido hacer, pero nunca lo has hecho? ¿Qué te ha impedido intentarlo?

Siempre me ha gustado la cocina. El tiempo iba contra reloj siempre en mi vida. Por eso siempre lo dejaba de lado. Por eso solo lo practicaba a veces.

Practicaba mi pasatiempo cuando había reuniones. Siempre organizábamos con antelación reuniones entre amigos. Allí era cuando mi creatividad florecía.
Dependiendo de la ocasión y del lugar siempre llevaba cosas diferentes. Si íbamos a la playa o montaña yo aportaba algo para el almuerzo. Cosas que se pudiesen comer sin calentar. Entre las preferidas por mis amigos: tortilla española, empanada gallega y polenta.

También nos reuníamos, para celebrar cumpleaños, las alumnas de yoga. Aquí aportaba dulzura a la reunión con torta de zanahoria, brazo gitano y lo que siempre me pedían eran mis galletitas especiadas. Las mismas eran unas galletas de mantequilla, que le colocaba diferentes especias de una manera sutil, y a todas les encantaba esa combinación de sabores.

En las reuniones familiares hacía platos más complicados o según el gusto de los comensales. A veces preparaba bisteck relleno de frutas secas y tocineta. Esto le encantaba a los carnívoros. Para los vegetarianos preparaba mis ñoquis de plátano. Una receta original del chef venezolano Sumito Estevez. Yo le añadía mi toque personal incorporándole con salsa de ajoporro y pimentón.

Pero cuando en familia se celebraban cumpleaños siempre me pedían que colocara el toque dulce. Fue así como empezó a gustarme la repostería. A ellos siempre le llevaba algo nuevo que probar. Recuerdo una vez que hice una tartaleta de mango y en otra ocasión una especie de torta con maíz tierno. A todo el mundo le fascinó pero no supieron que ingredientes tenían. Solo que todos querían repetir su porción.

Mis amigos me dicen que recopile las recetas y publique un libro. Estoy pensándolo.

Como ven por ahora no he podido dedicarme a mi pasatiempo a tiempo completo, pero disfruto con saber que el amor también se transmite en la comida que hacemos.

Pienso que pronto podré dedicarme a uno de mis pasatiempos favoritos: cocinar

I've always loved cooking. Time was always against the clock in my life. That's why I always put it aside. That's why I only practiced it sometimes.

I practiced my hobby when there were get-togethers. We always organized gatherings among friends in advance. That's when my creativity blossomed.
Depending on the occasion and the place I always wore different things. If we went to the beach or mountains I would bring something for lunch. Things that could be eaten without heating. Among my friends' favorites: Spanish omelette, Galician empanada and polenta.

We would also get together, to celebrate birthdays, the yoga students. Here I would add sweetness to the gathering with carrot cake, gypsy arm and what they always asked for were my spiced cookies. These were butter cookies, which I added different spices in a subtle way, and everyone loved the combination of flavors.

At family gatherings she would make more complicated dishes or according to the taste of the diners. Sometimes she would prepare steak stuffed with dried fruits and bacon. The carnivores loved it. For vegetarians I would prepare my plantain gnocchi. An original recipe from Venezuelan chef Sumito Estevez. I would add my personal touch by incorporating it with ajoporro sauce and paprika.

But when my family celebrated birthdays they always asked me to add a sweet touch. That's how I started to like baking. I always brought them something new to try. I remember once I made a mango tartlet and another time a kind of cake with baby corn. Everyone loved it but they didn't know what ingredients were in it. Only that everyone wanted to repeat their portion.

My friends tell me to compile the recipes and publish a book. I am thinking about it.

As you can see for now I have not been able to dedicate myself to my hobby full time, but I enjoy knowing that love is also transmitted in the food we make.

I think that soon I will be able to dedicate myself to one of my favorite hobbies: cooking.
