The Sound of Silence

avatar

I welcome the peace of this moment, the silence, the sound of my heart beating, all the while, navigating the challenges of some days. So easy to lose sight of what really matters.

I am moved by the words on the page I was reading this morning, "Whenever we feel that the pain of losing our dear one is too great, we should remember with gratitude the moments spent together that transformed us into in better people. Behind the sorrow, there is the happiness of having been together at least for a while."

I find comfort in these words and will leave these lay until the joy comes back into my heart. I have no doubt that there will be changes within me, one small thing at a time, until one day, I feel me again. There have definitely been enough untimely deaths this last year. Even one is too many.

Swirl With A Flat Bottom L.png

If I should die, And you should live, And time should gurgle on, And morn should beam, And noon should burn, As it has usual done; If birds should build as early, And bees as bustling go,– One might depart at option From enterprise below! ‘Tis sweet to know that stocks will stand When we with daisies lie, That commerce will continue, And trades as briskly fly. It makes the parting tranquil And keeps the soul serene, That gentlemen so sprightly Conduct the pleasing scene!

I thought that when my Grandfather passed.... that we were all better people for having known him and having seen his example.

We need time to allow the sun to shine sitting silently taking in everything around us, time never allows one to ever forget, slowly we adjust to that void of emptiness.

Alas we started the new year not leaving behind bereavement but seeing more sorrow. Fields of daisies, tread carefully wherever you go, find time for silence, letting feelings wash out to renew.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend, keep smiling even when you feel down!

Living in a fast paced world it is good to step aside, allow time in thought, wallow in memories. Not too long or depression sets in, we do need to give ourselves time.

Placing feeling into words assists both ways, I clearly recall my Aunt saying on her 100th birthday in 2005, "why am I still here when everyone I know is gone?" It is not ours to question, when nor why.

Isn't that the truth. We know not the number, only that it will be.

Whenever we feel that the pain of losing our dear one is too great, we should remember with gratitude the moments spent together that transformed us into in better people. Behind the sorrow, there is the happiness of having been together at least for a while.

Beautiful words, very true. These worries I have increasingly often.
Denise (@dswigle, see, I haven't forgotten), you are sad, I feel this also because of your lack of interest (if I am wrong in what I say, please forgive me). Now I understand more of what you write here...however, "Life is beautiful". Let's ask for a little more of it!

I really like your blog, maybe my pessimistic side helps me with that. The title reminds me of a wonderful song, I don't think it has anything to do with the subject but I can't help but remember it.

Of course, you are right. I am still sad about the loss, but, most of it because I cannot be there with her family right now. I have had long conversations and much love passed back and forth. I know that life will return to where it was, perhaps a little bit richer for having known her, but, I will get it back on track.

Thank you so much, my friend. For your words and for the music. It just so happens to be a favorite song of mine. Have a great week ahead.
