Today I learned that a good friend of mine passed away, and it was all quite unexpected, very out of the blue. I have no words for her children, it is very unsettling to feel without the right thing to say. I can still remember the first time we crossed paths when we were a bit younger, a bit more foolish, and, with being transferred continuously, became neighbors several more times. Our children became friends and now, all I can think of is being without a mother, just when they need one most. Selfishly, I am sad for myself and all that I will miss of her.
There was a trio of us that moved in the circle and we spent the last several years texting each other, watching American Idol, and using our pretend voting power and comments to drive our show. Secretly, I much preferred "The Voice," but, I am a team player.
I think sometimes life is unfair and I was trying to visualize what it would be like if that was me instead of her. What kind of fallout would I leave behind, so much unfinished business and I sit as I write this, unwilling to do anything but look at the keys, because it is too hard to do anything at this moment, except to wait for the breeze to blow it all away.

Aristotle described deep friendship with these words, “What is a friend? A single soul in two bodies”.

I am so sorry for your loss! I am getting up in years, and losing friends is becoming a frequent occurrence for me. But that doesn't make it any easier. We still miss them.

Unfinished business. My financial business is pretty tight I'm thinking, but my "things" are impossible. I'm trying to work on the things part to get out the extras..... so when anything happens to me, they will need a smaller sized dumpster to clear out my place. LOL !!!! I should make my own parting arrangements too I'm thinking, if I were a good person I wouldn't put anyone else through that after I'm gone. It's hard to do though, to get all the ducks lined up.

Sorry for the passsing of your friend. I've lost a few since graduation but i know the number is just going grow as we age sadly.

Unfinished business... there will always be a lot, but hopefully, it is today's unfinished business. But I should see where that is, maybe a friend I have lost touch with due to my own neglect.
