Ladies of Hive: My Entry to Community Contest #1

avatar

First, I'd like to thank @romeskie for the tag to join this community's first-ever contest. Upon checking, I saw that the contest is due to end tomorrow, October 4th, and here goes my entry.

Here's the contest link for more information:

If you would get 100 dollars now, what would be the first thing you would do with that amount?

There are three questions raised in the contest post, and the above is what I chose to answer.

Where I'm at (UAE), $100 is equivalent to AED 367 in our local currency. This amount can go as easily in one dine in at our favorite restaurant, or a pair of suit, or stretch for a grocery budget for 2 weeks.

The thing is, money is too easy to spend. It just depends on what your needs or priorities are.

We are a family that does not really spend on lavish or extravagant clothing, expensive restaurants, and such. The places we go to are either free or sponsored. Good thing, there are lots of great family-friendly places to visit here that are free.

Homeschool Resources

Anyone who knows me knows that we are homeschooling. There's now three of them and though it is much cheaper than going to a traditional school, it still requires a big chunk of the budget to educate three.

If I were to get a chance to get my hands on an extra $100, it would go for books and resources we require for homeschool this year, particularly books to complete my eldest's. I have already completed the books of my youngest and my little girl, but my eldest still needs books for History and Geography, and Language Arts.

There you have it! My entry for the Ladies of Hive Community Contest.

I am inviting @erangvee, @sherylneil, @diosarich, @jurich60 to join this contest. You still have a day, ladies. 😜 I wish to see your entries.

Yey! Sumali na siyaaaa. Thanks mamsh!

Haha.

Hindi pa rin kami naka enroll formally for this school year. I'm thinking of enrolling directly with a homeschooling partner in US para mas mura, or kung hindi man, sa December cycle kami mag eenroll sa current provider namin. Either way, we're already starting with the lessons now and just compiling our portfolio para hindi kami ma-late sa lessons (advantage of homeschooling!). Although, I'm still following the curriculum recommendations of our provider.

Yes! Though I'd say years back it would be for myself. Now it's for the kids. 😂

Homeschooling huh? Considering the poor quality of my own local school system that is run by corporations and special interest groups there is a good arguement for Homeschooling.
Thanks for Sharing your choice @arrliinn and Welcome to Ladies of Hive!

Yeah, homeschooling 3 kids and it could really get challenging but of course, rewarding too. 😍

What a great idea!
To spend that money of furthering your children's education is an excellent choice and an excellent investment as that $100 would last them a lifetime.

Goodluck and I hope that all of your hopes and dreams become a reality. 😀

That would be a great thing to do. You can never have enough books for education and it's so important to have the proper education for the future.
