Mothers day bouquet

Today I put together some flowers that have bloomed and some that have not opened yet. Many plants were picked and I gathered them for a nice gift to my mother for this special day. Some of the flowers gathered are from kale, geranium, onion, jasmine, roses and others. They were all blooming this month and seemed like a perfect fit for a vase, many of them were just starting to open and made for the perfect flower gift.

Starting off I picked some onion flowers, if you have never seen these bloom they have circular shaped flowers.

The kale was next, and I gathered a stalk of its yellow flowers for the vase.

I find the jasmine vine just full of flowers, so I cut off a vine and will add it.

The comfrey was in bloom as well so I gathered a stalk with some leaves and some flowers. Most were unopened so they should open over the course of a few days while my mother has them.

Little geranium flowers were up next, these grow wild in Georgia.

Pyrethrum daises have been growing very well since transplanting so I gathered a hand full of them. Their stems have a nice fragrance to them as well.

In mid spring many roses were blooming. I found a cluster with some that have not completely opened yet so I picked those to go in the bouquet.

Another kind of roses, not the long stem like the ones above but still nice. Found a cluster that should open soon.

Spiderwart was collected as well, the little flowers open and doing well.

After picking I bring them inside to sort, the dog checks them out and seemed to like the smell of the flowers.

One of the cats show up next checking them out, I make sure they do not eat any.. lol

Placing by the window to sort out where I want everything one of the other cats check out the spiderwart leaves. I move it before she can get a bite.

Many flowers in this bouquet, some opened and others not quite yet. Some will open tomorrow and others will take a few days to finish blooming.

Hoping they do not shed, some times the seeds fall out when placed in a vase. Its all good, wont be too bad cleaning up I hope.

The kale flowers look great in the window by the light. We ate some of the leaves earlier in the year before they bolted. And tried them once after they started flowering. Now I will just appreciate them as flowers.

The spiderwart, jasmine, rose and onion flowers can be seen in the picture above.

Some of the smaller roses can be seen, along with the buds that have not opened yet. Its nice these are all blooming during mothers day.

One of the long stem roses opening already and a couple others that should open soon. The smell of these are very nice.
