To cultivate at home it is not necessary to be an expert, but it is necessary to know the specifications of the plants. Today I will teach you how cassava is grown.

  1. It can be planted at any time of the year, however, it is recommended to plant them at the beginning of the rainy season.

  2. This crop grows in different soils, the ideal is to plant in light soils, we must avoid areas that are very heavy and with little drainage.

  3. To cultivate, we use stakes or pieces of stems. We can also sow its seeds, but it takes a long time.

  4. The stake or stems should be planted at a depth of 6-10 cm, either vertically, horizontally, or tilted. It is generally sown upright to promote initial growth.

  5. The space between the plants should be about 1 meter, this way the roots will develop without any problem.

  6. Irrigation must be constant, both for its roots and for its leaves. The soil must be kept moist, but we must avoid stagnation of water.

  7. The ground must have good drainage.

  8. Eliminate weeds around the plant, as they can reduce the yield of our plant by up to 50%.

  9. The harvest takes place after 7 to 10 months, it all depends on the weather conditions. This is done by cutting the stem and at the same time we select the stems that can be planted.
