Ecotrain Question of the Week: What is Your Hole in Your Bucket?

avatar

The question this week asks people to consider something negative which one has turned into something positive.

There's quite an interesting tale about a crack (rather than a hole) in a bucket that ended up being just that in this week's question post which is well worth a read.

It reminded of me this well-known Daoist tale in which apparent bad luck turns into good luck and so on, 'maybe'.

It happened to me the other day - I accidentally left out the memo on my 2K Steem PD to bittrex, and it took 4 days for me to get it sorted. I was bemoaning not being able to blow a few hundred Steem on some Splinterlands cards, but then 4 days later Steem was up about 20% on BTC, I know we've ALL been there!

A more physical example is that I'm having to rest thanks to a slight running strain (it's not quite an injury, rather a strain), and I've only been out once this week - but I've managed to turn it into a positive not only by using the extra few hours productively but also sorting out my diet - I did a proper 16 hour gap intermittent fast yesterday and gave my stomach a nice break, I don't need the calories and I felt much better!

Or on a more macro-scale, Covid-19 means I lost £6K in income, but it's given me the time to prep my escape to Portugal and the impetus to get my house rented out sooner rather than later, given that the money's going to start running out, sooner rather than later!

TBH I don't know where I would have found the time to 'transition' if I'd have stuck to my usual schedule.

There's no point bemoaning what appears to be misfortune, because it may not be, maybe!

I had to close my business for 60 days, which I was really bummed about at first, but it made me look for clients in other countries that I could do remote work for. I now have 1 steady client and an interview tomorrow :) sometimes you need to be shoved out of your comfort zone. :)

Hey that sounds like a good response, and I think that's true for many people in many comfort zones!

Best of luck with the interview!

The problem with Crypto is that does have this tendency to leave you feeling like you've missed out whatever happens!

'If only I'd bought thousands of Hive two months ago', 'If only I'd bought BTC when it was down at £3K'.

I can't think of any other areas of real life where I think like this, it's a constant challenge, and I know I'm not the only one this affects!

No problem with the tip, not quite 6K Euros, but hopefully it'll help a little!
