QOTW Season 7 #2: What are your favourite ways to show and receive gratitude?

There are so many ways how to show and receive gratitude from people. It depends upon the culture and tradition of the community or places.

What is gratitude?

Gratitude is one of many positive emotions. It's about focusing on what's good in our lives and being thankful for the things we have. Gratitude is pausing to notice and appreciate the things that we often take for granted, like having a place to live, food, clean water, friends, family, even computer access

How to show and receive gratitude in my hometown?

When our neighbor gave us food during our lunchtime, we have to give it back tomorrow at the same time. Of course, we have uttered some words of appreciation. It added a strong relationship between us.

Another place in the Philippines

When I gave them something, they just received it without any return. Yes, they have a gesture of being grateful but not the same happened in my hometown.

How about in Saudi Arabia?

I am living here for half of my lifetime and I already knew some of their attitude, culture, and traditions. The same example I would like to share. To the family of my employer, when they received food from the neighbor, they have to give it in return and the value must be more enough than the amount they received.

All of the above are among those so many ways how to show and receive gratitude. But for me, I changed a little and add something that is from my heart.

I love to receive gifts and many people did it for me. But I didn't return the same things as what I received. The best way of showing my gratitude is to talk and say thank you. I wish them a happy life for being generous.
Then I will show my style when I received a gift, I will give gifts to other people and not from the one who gave me.

Being grateful like me who live in a foreign land. I left behind my only child. To obtain care and love from other people for my son. I gave love to the children of my employer from my heart, hoping that my neighbor siblings would give love to my son. I entrusted God to work for it. Those are my simple way how to show and received gratitude.
