Lyin' Biden

I've criticized Trump and the Republican party a lot these past few years; if you're a regular reader there's no way you've missed that. That doesn't mean that the other major American political party is a whole lot better though.

In fact they're almost as bad; during the Democratic primaries and the general elections I've had a whole lot of criticisms aimed at the Democrats as well. The only reason why I wanted the Democrats to win, and I've said so on many occasions, is that they're the lesser of two evils, and that the Republican Party under Donald Trump was rapidly moving towards fascism. But now that the Democrats are in the driving seat, we're confronted with many disappointments. First there was the removal of the 15 dollar minimum wage from the 1.9 trillion stimulus package. Biden himself promised during his campaign against Trump that he would fight to raise the minimum wage, but so far has failed to give any indication that he actually will.

Although not as impressive as Trump's, the list of Joe Biden's incorrect statements is still considerable; check the LATEST FALSE FACT-CHECKS ON JOE BIDEN on Politifact. Linked below this paragraph there's a short video on one of Biden's most striking lies; the one where he solemnly promised activist and organizer Ady Barkan that patents would not be an obstacle for the distribution of Covid-19 vaccines. As it turns out, and as is almost always the case, Biden and numerous other Democratic Party politicians and advisors have personal stakes in Big Pharma...

How corrupt the Democratic Party truly is, was most apparent during the primaries in 2020. During these elections Biden, and other Democrats, went so far as to tell lies about one of their own candidates, Bernie Sanders. Sanders was the one candidate who had a chance, if elected, to change the course of the Democratic Party in a way that would benefit the working class. If you take a look at the Politifact list linked above, you'll see this Biden lie: Sanders’ “Medicare for All” plan "would cost more than the entire federal budget that we spend now." In several interviews Biden said he would even veto any plan for universal healthcare if it reached his desk in the Oval Office. Universal healthcare is the one thing that Americans need most. Not only because of the terrible risk of healthcare related personal bankruptcy; most Americans have their health insurance through their employers, which means they lose it when they lose their job. How many Americans stick to a job they don't like JUST because of the health insurance? How many are prevented to switch jobs? Why give employers this extra measure of power over their workers?

The attitude of the Democratic Party as a whole during the 2020 primaries was that they'd rather suffer another term under Trump than give the presidency to Bernie Sanders. That, in my opinion, shows just how little this party cares about the working class, that is the middle class as well as the working poor. I feel so sorry for Americans that this Democratic Party is the best they have...
